Is There Loot in Helldivers 2?
The short answer is not really, but there are other ways to unlock items in Helldivers 2. While there’s a solid selection of weapons and items like Stratagems to collect in the new title from Arrowhead, there’s a fixed amount to pick up with the progress you make in the game. This also includes coveted Medals, which you can find on outings. You can add research samples to the list, too, considering you’ll pocket a solid supply by scouring the planets.
As you rank up by completing missions, you can unlock new equipment and purchase upgrades with Research Points. This differs from common looting systems in other titles, which tend to offer up much more than what’s available in the multiplayer third-person shooter.
Granted, this system isn’t every gamer’s cup of tea. However, it’s not far off from the progression system of the original Helldivers title.
