Hades 2 Players Offer Honest First Impressions of the New Patch

A new patch for Hades 2 early access dropped on June 4, and the players have some raving first impressions. The sheer size of this patch surprised everyone. The players shared which boosts they loved the most and which nerfs were awfully disappointing.

New Patch Brings a Lot of Changes

Irish_Whiskey acknowledged: “Balance changes are exciting, and deserve player feedback”. This summarized the entire point of early access, especially in a game this intricate. They added: “I see Momus staff got changes and nerfed”. Another player, IIICobaltIII, shared the disappointment. They said: “I knew the witch staff nerf was coming… thing was a literal machinegun with the double shot special hammer and there was no incentive to use any of its omega abilities”.
Torches received a makeover as well. AffectionateHunt5830 raved: “I love the new torches, especially the reworked Eos aspect. Eos is way less clunky, and absolutely melts huge clusters of enemies. Even chunks bosses pretty well if you keep them in your cast. Great changes”.
Chocolate_Rabbit_ confirmed: “Torch changes are feeling very good. The attack speed, especially with the Omega, is super noticeable. I don’t think this will be a particularly popular favorite weapon, but it won’t be the hated weapon that it was up to this point”. They added: “The real winner for me, though, is the Persephone aspect Skull. I hate the Skull, and this aspect enables you to use the Skull without having to interact with the Attack or Omega attack at all”.

One of the negative changes affected the Moonstone Axe. _Kairyu_ noticed: “Is it just me or does the Thanatos’ Axe feel awkward now… Like using omega moves to gain crit chance (on everything not just omega moves) felt really good, but attacking to gain crit on only omega moves feels weird in my opinion”. Unfortunately, many others confirmed the obvious change. AnythingButIvJo said: “Totally agree, hitless runs were very fun with the previous Thanatos. This is just lackluster”.

Some Fans Are Blown Away by Hexes

Hexes reportedly received a nice buff. Pollia shared their favorite part of the patch. They said: “Honestly the buffs to the hexes are absolutely insane. With the Selene’s keepsake, you have 10 upgrades on your first path of stars allowing you to get sometimes 2 end tree upgrades. The cost reductions also have made them ridiculously strong”.
MissNouveau was very excited: “As someone who already loved hexes, I cannot WAIT to try this out. Time to laser Grandpa in the face some more”. Rogdish added: “Yeah, as much as I love it, it might even be a bit too strong right now”.

Finally, we’d have to agree with BelugaGrey. They said: “More frog content, best change I’ve seen tonight, thank you Supergiant”. This comment was about the addition of more voice lines when confiding in Frinos in certain contexts. It might be a small change, but Frinos has already won over so many people and we are sure they’ll all be delighted.

Of course, with the amount of changes, it’ll take the Hades 2 players some time to get through this entire patch and sort out their impressions. The developers have really outdone themselves. We can’t even imagine how great the final version of the game will be.
