Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 is set to drop today, March 8. Dubbed Myths & Mortals, the new season brings with it an overarching theme of Greek mythology, introducing skins for iconic figures like Zeus, Hades, and Artemis, as well as infamous foes like Medusa and Cerberus. Of course, the pantheon isn’t complete without the powers of the gods. As we await the next Fortnite update, let’s break down all the new weapons and powers set to arrive with Chapter 5 Season 2.
All Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 Weapons
With the drop of Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2: Myths & Mortals, we’ve received a set of all-new weapons, plus returning pieces and more. In line with the season’s themes of Greek mythology, you can obtain Mythic varieties as well as standard chest loot. Here’s a look at what’s new, and what’s tried and true.
New Weapons
- Gatekeeper Shotgun — According to EPIC, Hephaestus forged this shotgun just for Cerberus. It can quickly fire off three rounds at short range, then reload with the next magazine. You can find this shotgun anywhere on the island, but its Mythic variant can only be obtained from Cerberus.
- Harbinger SMG — This new weapon is highly accurate with its first use, though it also has wildly increased recoil as you continue to fire. The standard Harbinger SMG can be picked up around the island while its Mythic variant comes with defeating Hades himself.
- Huntress DMR — Much like the famed archer, Artemis, this weapon performs best at long distances. You can pick up the huntress DMR around the island or hunt down Zeos to get your hands on the Mythic version.
- Warforged Assault Rifle — Favored by Ares, this weapon is best suited for power-hungry players. This assault rifle boasts high damage, high rate of fire, and strong recoil, to boot. Again, you can grab this weapon all around the island or score its Mythic variant from Ares.

- Frenzy Auto Shotgun
- Nemesis AR
- Thunder Burst SMG
- Reaper Sniper Rifle
- Ranger Pistol
New Powers
- Thunderbolt of Zeus — With the power of Zeus in your hands, you can rise into the skies and fire off thunderbolts, though you’ll need to wield this power wisely. You have three charges max and a cooldown between each one.
- Wings of Icarus — Like the ill-fated Icarus, you can don his wings to soar through the skies and divebomb your opponents. However, flying for too long means your wings will burn up, potentially resulting in an all-out crash landing.
- Chains of Hades — While this power won’t be available at the start of Season 2, we can expect its arrival down the line. Based on EPIC’s hints, it sounds like this Olympian power may pull your enemies in for a beating
