Fortnite is the world-popular Battle Royale game. It keeps things fresh by constantly introducing new content and ways to play the game. This is primarily done with Seasons, each lasting for about 90 days and introducing a new theme, with new cosmetics, items, skins, etc. We’ve heard mention of something called Myths and Mortals coming to Fortnite, so let’s see what that is all about.
What Is Fortnite Myths and Mortals?
Myths and Mortals is the title for Fortnite’s Chapter 5 Season 2. The Pandora’s Box has been opened and it brought Mount Olympus to the battlefield. As everyone speculated, the whole season is based on Greek mythology, with appropriate locations, Outfits, and even god-like powers. Let’s see what’s new exactly.
Myths and Mortals New Content
Legendary locations
- Mount Olympus
- Grim Gate
- The Underworld
- Brawler’s Battleground
New Weapons
- Gatekeeper Shotgun – a shotgun that can quickly fire three rounds. Get the Mythic variant by defeating the Cerberus.
- Harbinger SMG – a weapon that starts off pretty accurate and dramatically increases its recoil the more you fire it. Get the Mythic variant by defeating Hades.
- Huntress DMR – a mix of a sniper and an assault rifle. Get the mythic variant by defeating Zeus.
- Warforged Assault Rifle – high damage, high rate of fire, and a strong recoil. Get the Mythic version by defeating Ares.
New Powers
- Thunderbolt of Zeus – rise into the air and hurl lightning bolts at your enemies. It has three charges so use it wisely. You can find it on the Island, or by defeating Zeus.
- Wings of Icarus – gain the power of flight. But fly for too long and your wings will burn up. And you’ll also crash land if you take enough damage while airborne. You can find this power on the Island.

New Weapon Mods
- Thermal Scope – doubles the scope distance, and gives you Thermal Vision.
- Speedgrip – increases your movement speed while aiming.
Myths and Mortals Battle Pass
For 950 V-Bucks you can unlock the new Battle Pass, which lasts until May 24, 2024. There you can unlock the following Outfits (note that Cerberus is unlocked immediately after you purchase the Battle Pass):
- Cerberus – Rise from The Underworld.
- Aphrodite – Lead with your heart.
- Poseidon – Slurp-god of the sea. King of the beach.
- Medusa – Humanity’s stone-hearted defender.
- Zeus – Warrior-king of the gods.
- Artemis – All must respect the natural laws, even the gods.
- Hades – The overseer of the Underworld.
Later in the Season, the Avatar Korra will be coming to Fortnite.
