The long-awaited sequel to the acclaimed game from 2012 is finally here. Like its predecessor, Dragon’s Dogma 2 is an action role-playing game in which players take control of the Arisen. Journey across breathtaking landscapes, doing quests and battling monsters, all hoping to reclaim your stolen heart from the dragon.
To help you on this journey there are various Pawns that you can recruit. These AI-controlled characters will help you in combat, and give guidance and information relevant to the current quests and enemies. Can Dragon’s Dogma 2 be played using Steam Deck?
Yes, you can play Dragon’s Dogma 2 on your Steam Deck. With that in mind, even if you lower the setting to a minimum the game is currently not running very well. The current optimization for the game is not good, and even top-of-the-line desktops are struggling to run the game smoothly.
This means that Valve’s handheld does not stand a chance here. The best you can hope for is around 20 fps and that is simply not enough to enjoy and explore this breathtaking world. Hopefully, Capcom will optimize the game better in the future and Steam Deck will be a viable option to play the game. Until then you would be better off switching to a console or upgrading your PC to enjoy the game fully.
