What is ADR in CS2? ADR explained

If you are one of the million players that enjoy CS2, but you were wondering what ADR is, read on and we will explain all there is to know about ADR. Counter-Strike 2 is one of the most popular games on the multiplayer shooter market. ADR is an important part of the game, so it’s important to know what it represents. For that reason, let’s take a closer look at what ADR is and how it is calculated in CS2.

What is ADR in CS2

Average Damage per Round or ADR displays the average amount of damage a player does in a round. ADR is used to measure players’ performance. It is more reliable than other statistics that show your contribution to the team. The only downside to ADR is that it only counts damage you have done during the round.

So if you have thrown a molotov or a smoke that delayed a push to make time for your teammates to rotate, but you did not do any damage this round, that will not count towards your ADR. This means that only your pure damage done goes into your ADR score.

How is ADR calculated?

It is simple to calculate ADR in CS2 and the game does it automatically for you. At any moment during the match, you can check this by hitting the “Tab” key and then right-clicking on Cycle Stats. You need to keep in mind that KDA is not the same as ADR. As said before, ADR has a simple formula. Add up all the damage you have done during the match and divide it by the rounds played. This will give you the correct ADR value. Every enemy needs 100 damage to be killed, and even if you do more damage like AWP headshot it still counts as only 100.

What is the average ADR in CS2?

In most games, you will not make kills in every round. This goes for most players in CS2 as well. With that in mind, the normal/average ADR in CS2 is around 70 to 80. For example, keep in mind that designated snipers on your team will most likely have higher ADR than the rest of the team due to AWP’s massive damage output.
