What Tick Rate Is Counter Strike 2?
Counter Strike 2 servers are 64-tick rate, which are the same as the servers in Counter Strike: Global Offensive. It is not the 128-tick rate servers that hardcore players have been asking for, but there has been one change that could improve the game’s servers.
Valve has added sub-tick update architecture to Counter Strike 2, which means that the servers “know the exact instant that motion starts, a shot is fired, or a ‘nade is thrown,” according to Valve’s explanation of it. If players are still not satisfied with the new changes with the updated game, then they can always move onto FACEIT servers, which do use 128-tick rate.
What Is Tick Rate?
With server-based online games, a tick is any update done within the game’s simulation. That mean every trigger pulled, grenade thrown, or character jumping is accounted for. The tick rate is the rate at which the server can handle when the trigger is pulled to when the bullet comes out. Games that use a low tick rate with have a lot more latent and be a lot less precise than games with high tick rate servers, like Valorant.
