What is the Arcane Acuity buff in Baldur’s Gate 3 and what does it do? Read on and find out.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is one of the best RPGs of today. It was awarded the coveted Game of the Year 2023 award, along with the Player’s Voice Award, Best Performance, Best Community Support, Best RPG, and Best Multiplayer. Given that the game was released in August 2023 it is an impressive feat. Larian Studios are known for giving us some great and not-that-easy-to-beat games. You have to squeeze the advantage out of every situation and play optimally, especially in the Tactician and Honor mode in BG3. That means you should have a general knowledge of buffs and debuffs. With that in mind, let’s talk about Arcane Acuity, what it is, and what it does in Baldur’s Gate 3.
What Does Arcane Acuity Do?
Arcane Acuity is a buff in BG3 that grants you a bonus to your Spell Attack Rolls and Spell Difficulty Class that lasts for a number of Turns. The bonus you get is equal to the number of turns Arcane Acuity has remaining. For example, if the Arcane Acuity buff has five turns remaining, it will grant +5 to your Spell Attack Rolls and Spell DC. Next turn, when it has four turns remaining, the bonus will be +4, etc. This buff caps at seven turns. But how to get it?

How to Get Arcane Acuity?
Various items and consumables grant you Arcane Acuity and those are:
- Gloves of Battlemage’s Power – Located in the Opulent Chest, On the second floor of the Reithwin Tollhouse.
- Hat of Fire Acuity – Obtained by defeating and looting the Strange Ox.
- Hat of Storm Scion’s Power – Sold by Araj Oblodra in Moonrise Towers in Act Two.
- Helmet of Arcane Acuity – Located in the Reithwin Masons’ Guild underground in Act Two.
- Elixir of Battlemage’s Power – To craft this item, first extract three Gauth Eyestalks and combine them to create a Suspension of Gauth Eyestalk. Finally, combine it with any Sublimate and you will get one Elixir of Battlemage’s Power.
