Each have their own benefits and drawbacks depending on your progress. This guide will show players how to activate all three forms of resting in the game.

How To Short Rest in Baldur’s Gate 3

The Short Rest can be triggered at any time during your adventure, but it can only be used two times per in-game day. It can be accessed through the campfire icon at the bottom right of the action bar.

A short rest will replenish 50% of the health points for each character in your party. It will also refresh all cooldowns of actions that have been used, and restore the spell slots any Warlock characters in the party. The two Short Rests can be restored by taking a Long Rest.

How To Long Rest in Baldur’s Gate 3

Picking the Long Rest from the campfire icon will send the party back to camp. It requires 40 camp supplies, but will fully replenish all health, spell slots, and Short Rests.

Players can still talk to companions while at camp, so players can trigger the Long Rest by clicking on the beds or campfire. You can pick which camp supplies to use or use Auto-Select for the game to do it automatically.

Players could also choose Partial Rest at the Long Rest menu, which will replenish half of the party’s health and spell slots. It will not replenish Short Rests and will end the day, but does not cost any supplies,
