Nexon’s looter shooter took the scene by storm, and after playing the game and checking out everything there is, players are wondering when will they get something new. Dedicated players (some with over 200 hours in the game) have explored every nook and cranny of The First Descendant, unlocked every character and weapon, and now yearn for more stuff to do. Thankfully, Nexon has been kind enough to provide us with a Roadmap for The First Descendant, so keep on reading to see what’s in store for us.
What to Expect From Future Updates
The developers gave us insights into what to expect in future updates, in their Dev Chat videos. We can expect more characters, a continuation of the main story, a new Colossi, more weapons, and more. The upcoming features have been separated into three categories, listed below.
Global Launch / Pre-Season (Early August)
Following the global launch of the game, we will get a major update somewhere in early August. In that update, we will get a new Descendant called Luna, a new boss, Valby will get her Ultimate variant, and more.

Season 1 Episode: Invasion (Late August)
The first Season will be named Invasion and will add more features to the game, like Season Progression and Field Completion. We expect that Season Progression will behave similarly to Seasonal content in other games. Field Completion is already in the game, and it means you have finished all the main quests in an area, so we are curious about what will this update add.

Season 2 Episode: Ancestor (Early December)
The second Season will be named Ancestor, and the main features are something called Mega Dungeon and Utility Companion. We expect that a Mega Dungeon will be a very large “Instance” for a full squad, but we have absolutely no word on what a Utility Companion will be. We’ll get even more playable Descendants, another Colossus, another Descendant Story (like the one we have for Bunny), and many more additions.
