The First Descendant – Top 7 Best Weapons

For this list, we selected the best weapons that can complement any character in The First Descendant and help out any Party composition. Weapons have to deal with a lot of different targets, so we have chosen those that perform well in basically every situation. Of course, the weapons listed here are based on our personal opinions and are subject to change with future updates.

1. Thunder Cage

The first Ultimate weapon you unlock and everyone’s favorite, the Thunder Cage is an absolute beast when it comes to dealing with groups of enemies. Each time you eliminate an enemy with it, they have a chance to let out an Electric Shockwave, dealing even more damage to everyone around. This is a great weapon for a lot of characters since the Submachine Gun’s job is usually to deal with hordes.

2. Nazeistra’s Devotion

\A Hand Cannon that damages enemies and heals allies, Nazeistra’s Devotion is great wherever you point it. Hitting a weak spot will reduce the target’s DEF, so the whole squad can benefit, while hitting a friend will restore some of their Shield, at the cost of your MP. Shooting at your friends in The First Descendant will not damage them, but with Nazeistra’s Devotion, “accidental friendly fire” will keep your teammates alive.

3. Afterglow Sword

The only Sniper Rifle here, the Afterglow Sword grants increased reload time and damage as long as it continuously hits weak spots. Since that is what Snipers are good for anyway, this weapon is extremely deadly in the right hands. Moreover, it has an increased Critical Hit Rate when firing at Commanders and Colossuses.

4. Executor

The Executor is a Shotgun that gets better and better each time you manage to hit your target with all fired bullets. It grants increased Accuracy and Critical Hit Rate and when you reach the maximum number of Stacks, the next shot fired will be extremely powerful and electrocute the target, which in turn increases the ATK even more. Since Colossuses are huge, it is quite easy to hit them with every bullet the Executor fires, making it an effective weapon for dealing with the largest threats up close

5. Perforator

Another Hand Cannon, the Perforator is an awesome tool for breaking enemies’ Shields. Every time you hit a weak spot, a percentage of the target’s Shield will also be damaged. So, in the hands of an accurate Descendant, this Hand Cannon will make short work of enemies’ Shield and leave them vulnerable to the rest of your squad.

6. Python

Another weapon for the marksmen out there, this time a Submachine Gun. Each time the Python hits a weak spot, it will decrease the target’s resistance, making it more vulnerable to your and your team’s elemental attacks. Extremely powerful in Freyna’s hands, as it reduces the Toxic resistances as well.

7. Clairvoyance

Clairvoyance is a Beam Rifle, which means that the more you keep the beam in the target, the more damage it will inflict. Additionally, it reduces the target’s Chill resistance, making it a superb choice for Viessa, and if you manage to get to Beam Level 3, the Clairvoyance will slow the enemy down by 70%.

Current Meta

The game is still fresh out of the oven, but already we can see some weapons take the spotlight more than others. In fact, some weapon combinations have proved to be the default for many players. leading to the appearance of a “meta” build.

For now, the most popular weapon trio (or “meta build”, if you will) is:

Thunder CageThe most popular Submachine Gun, awesome for clearing out groups of enemies.
Nazeistra’s DevotionThis Hand Cannon is a great opener since it reduces the target’s DEF for a while.
Afterglow SwordArguably the best Sniper out there, Afterglow Sword rewards players who can consistently hit Weak Points.
