How often does your game crash? Lots of Helldivers 2 players reported their game crashing very frequently and those issues are slowly but steadily driving the players away. The community stands united in a plea to developers to fix at least some of the existing problems.
The Players Are Tired of Helldivers 2 Crashing Constantly
A lot of players complained that Helldivers 2 kept crashing and that with every new patch, the situation got worse. Successful_Pea_8016 noted: “I love this game. At the same time, this game has crashed or disconnected more than any game I’ve ever played and I wouldn’t put up with this s**t from any other game”.
Several players reported quitting because they couldn’t handle all the crashes anymore. One player, reboot-your-computer, said: “I stopped playing 2 months ago because of bugs like this. I was just over it. I loved this game early on but the complete lack of care by the devs to fix the issues totally put me off”.
This player confessed: “Now I simply lurk hoping things change and they don’t seem to be at all. I have no confidence that this dev team will put any real focus on bug fixes so it’s very unlikely I’ll ever return”. A bunch of other players stated they quit the game and were also only checking online for possible updates. Just a couple of them admitted to returning to the game after quitting.
One returning player, soupeatingastronaut, said: “Not gonna lie before the hotfix I literally deleted the game due to this. I would say they really should look into the crashes with the Warbond and fix a branch related to crashes so it won’t be the same s**tshow of me literally getting a crash report on the loading screen of the game itself”.
Other Issues and Potential Fixes
Besides the crashing issues, Helldivers 2 players are also tired of the supposedly fixed infinite loading screen. A Redditor, luenzor, reported: “I loved the game. 300 hours. It’s still decent fun if it actually works. And that hardly ever happens these days. If it’s not a crash, it’s an infinite loading screen or a mission breaking”.
Zombiespire had a conspiracy on their mind. They noted: “I’m fully convinced they just introduce stealth patches that buff enemies, nerf weapons, and increase the frequency of crashes at this point. I crashed 4 times today and on the 4th I had just pulled my team together through a desperate situation and we started annihilating just for it to crash”.
Well, we are thankful that we haven’t experienced that many issues with the game, aside from not being able to quit it. If you haven’t tried anything to fix the problem yourself, maybe try clearing the cache or validating Helldivers 2 Steam files. Doing so might not solve all of your problems, but it might help.
As you probably know, it’s the season of summer vacations, so the game probably won’t get a big patch any time soon.
