Players Hope That the New Arrowhead CCO Will Improve Helldivers 2

In case you missed it, Pilestedt, the former CEO of Arrowhead, stepped down on May 22. He assumed a new position within the company, as a CCO – Chief Creative Officer. The decision caused quite an uproar among Helldivers 2 fans, as players desperately plea to the CCO to improve the game.

What is the First Thing the New CCO Will Improve?

For a while now, Pilestedt has had a good rep with the fans. It seems that he is determined to keep it. Since assuming his new position, he stated that he “will be more active with the community and work closer to the team”.

The CCO plans to tackle an array of reported issues. He said: “First thing we got to do is ensure we get more devs time playing the game. It’s hard to make the right decisions if the eyes aren’t on the road”. Another point he made is that they need to find the root of the players’ dissatisfaction. He explained: “Secondly, I want to ensure we actively look at the sentiment and create a holistic view of WHY feedback is given. And my working theory is that TTK [Time to Kill] is too high”.

Fans on Reddit were quick to agree with this point. DuncanConnell said: “I would say he’s got the right of it. It feels awful needing to drop an entire clip of an SMG/Breaker/Scorcher into 1-2 Berserkers (targeting weak spots) or just 1 Stalker just to kill it”. Another player, dasnoob, agreed: “He is right. In a horde combat game which is what this is high TTK absolutely makes it feel bad. The whole point is you are mowing down waves on enemies. Too many guns take almost an entire mag to do anything”.

On X, DrDarkMatch had some suggestions on how to improve the game. They suggested adding some variety to armors. Also, improving the weapons from the latest Warbond, Polar Patriots. Another amazing suggestion is to have bugs and bots attack other planets as well, not just move in a straight line toward the Super Earth. Pilestedt agreed completely with this player.

Community is What Makes Helldivers 2 Special

Helldivers 2 community is known as a mostly wholesome one. They may express their disdain for nerfs or complain about not getting desired bug fixes, but they do support their own. In light of the announced changes in the game, fans are reminding each other that it’s fine to sit one out.
A Reddit user, tmcfll, said: “If you’re really frustrated and not having fun these days, take a break and check back in a month or two. Don’t expect fixes overnight. Don’t expect every patch to solve a ton of issues. You’ll only set yourself up for further disappointment and frustration. Take a break, and we’ll see you when you come back”.

It’s important to prioritize your own feelings. If you need a break, you should take one, rather than getting burned out at some point and leaving the community entirely. The community will welcome you with open hands, whenever you come back. Thankfully, it seems that the new CCO will try to improve the Helldivers 2 in a record time, so the players have a lot to look forward to.
