Im really interested to see how this works. Sony is one of the big 5 hollywood studios. They should be able to pull this off. If they are able to achieve anything even remotely close to Netflix or Hulu, or amazon prime, their financial vows would be over for good, as streaming is a highly lucrative business that is also an extremely simple business model compared to some other business ventures (i would assume). Also the other hollywood studios may aid Sony in the short term because they themselves will probably follow suit, so opening the door for one of their own maybe benefitial to them.

Or you know they just made gaming the focus of their gaming console and still intended on putting in multimedia capabilities. At no time have I ever seen Sony deny the intent to have multimedia on their console, but their focus was clearly gaming.

Funny, The 2 or 3 vegans I've met were pale,emaciated and continually depressed.

This is sweet. I am considering switching from Directv when it becomes available, depending pricing. Its really only missing ESPN and Cartoon Network for my wife and I. Hopefully if/when they add those it does not jack up the pricetoo much.

Considering that Sony is a major movie studio, they have a ton of content. The move toward digital streaming has already begun, and the studios have the upper hand if they play their hands right. That is why Netflix is quick to begin its own studio productions, because they may not be able to rely fully on their competitors in the future (but i think they are pretty much semented in the industry so netflix isnt going anywhere either). Its going to be interesting.

Personally i think this is much better than paying for 20 channels you dont need just to get that one channel you do need. The cable companies are in trouble.

The movie thing is an important point since they already have movies that sony produces available before DVD occasionally. That may help them also.

I think one of the biggest draws of "Vue" is that its a combination of netflix-type services with Live TV. you get to watch live tv, but as if you are watching Netflix, meaning no more waiting for the series to arrive, you can watch the most recent episodes on demand.

I agree to an extent. My only disagreement with what you said would be that Netflix is cemented in the industry. Ask them about their decision to attempt to split the company a couple years ago and see how they bled customers.

The number of people who fled the service forced Netflix to drop the plan entirely after they had already made the site and everything. So long as they don't change much they are fine.
