Microsoft Has No Plans to Sell Standalone White Xbox One Controllers

Currently, the only way to get your hands on a white Xbox One controller is to buy the Sunset Overdrive bundle, and it doesn't sound like this is going to change anytime soon.

Asked on Twitter if Microsoft had any plans to offer the white Xbox One controllers outside of the bundle, executive Aaron Greenberg said: "Not planning white controllers at this time."

That's a shame.
I wanted to buy an additional white controller to go along with my white x1...

Robochobo3467d ago

I'd try ebay or craigslist and see if they people are selling them there.

famoussasjohn3467d ago

I'd be worried about the price. People were selling the Day One edition controllers for upwards of $100 on eBay when the console launched and it just has a 'Day One 2014' stamp on it with a chrome D-Pad. I want that white one though. May just pick up the military edition that I saw at Best Buy for a back up.

That's a loss for MS. This controller is the go-to controller for PC gamers too. They would make the profit back real easy as most gamers would buy atleast 2nd controller.

I wanted the white one. The X1 controller is my favorite of all time.

Now they're actually making a military camo controller.. Why not just the white one too??

Yeah if you're going to spend that kind of money on a white controller, you should probably hop over to scufgaming and get yourself a white scuf controller. They are quality controllers, trust me.

this is just PR talk to move the SSOD console to those really wanted the White one. trust me, give it 2-3 months top after SSOD launch, they will sell it as standalone.

In time you will be able to pick blue, pink, green, whatever color. The original 360 was a white system with white controller, eventually there were tons of colors offered (I had a blue and red one). So just give it some time and you'll have plenty of options :)

Who in the hell asked Greenstinch?

Go to the man Phil and ask him or tell him we want them and see it get done.

sinspirit3467d ago (Edited 3467d ago )

That's not how it works.

Are you not aware that some of the bad news is told by people other than Phil? Because, people are hyping him up to be the new good guy. He's given the good messages so the public likes him and makes XBox look good, he provides ideas but doesn't actually do much of anything; he's basically just a public representative. This is why the negative news isn't being told by Phil.

Software_Lover3467d ago

It was a joke, sorry I should have put J/K at the end.

Death3467d ago

You would think white controllers would be a no brainer and available at the same time the white consoles hit shelves.

Dread3467d ago

Perhaps they want to add value to the bundle. It makes it a bit more exclusive.

But, I do want one :)

PONTIAC08G8GT3467d ago

There are people who are willing to trade in existing X1 just to get a white one. So by keeping all the white items together, it makes it more exclusive.

oODEADPOOLOo3467d ago (Edited 3467d ago )

"So by keeping all the white items together, it makes it more exclusive."

sounds....oddly racist in a way, lol.

PONTIAC08G8GT3466d ago

Haha I thought same thing when I typed it, but I just said "eh, whatever" lol

Sarah_Ch3467d ago

Ugh:( then I should buy a second Bundle to get another one
