How You Can Solo Destiny’s Nightfall Strike For This Week: Face the Fury of the Hive on Your Own

This week’s nightfall strike in Destiny is The Summoning Pits on the Moon. Some will tell you that it requires three brave Guardians to complete, but it can actually be done solo with the right preparation and careful approach.

hmm.. I am level 28. I have that exact same Sniper rifle (although mine is maxxed out at 300 damage) along with the Ice Breaker Sniper Rifle (max damage). I am also a Warlock so as long as my Super is charged I have a free resurrection.

I might actually give this a go and just take it very slow.

Abriael3489d ago

I would not use the ice breaker, because its damage on the nightfall is quite low. The Queen's sniper has limited ammo, but will one/bishot most stuff.

Neonridr3489d ago

Thanks for the tip Abriael - I will bring both then. I can use Icebreaker for all the regular minions and save my Ammo Packs for when I need to use Supremacy. I don't have an exotic machine gun, but I think I can manage ok with my legendary rocket launcher if things get really messy.

Shame the video ended early, I wanted to see what rewards he/she got.

Kenshin_BATT0USAI3488d ago

...? What, use the icebreaker to regain ammo. That way you never have to go look for special ammo

I did it with my 30 lock but tried w 28 hunter and died. Will try again.i have the plan c fusion rifle and and arc rocket launcher.

--Onilink--3489d ago

i did it with a 29 hunter, Hawkmoon, Rare Arc Sniper and Legendary Arc Rocket Launcher.

My advise, sniper for knights (reds are one shot, yellows 2) and use rocket launcher for Wizards (even yellows will go in 1 shot)

I did notice that when you play with more people, enemies have a higher defense(or you do less damage). So actually solo might even be easier if you take it easy and know where to hide back (1st part, go back to the stair and even all the way to the previous room for phase 3. And stay in the entrance room for phogot and step back when the shrieker appears)

Neonridr3488d ago

bah.. none of my weapons do arc damage (minus a shotgun). I solo'd the Weekly on hard using this strategy, so that was nice at least.

I wasn't about to drop 150 marks on an Arc Sniper Rifle when I have 2 fully upgraded Snipers already (although both do Solar Damage).

Wow this guy is cutting through those Knights like swiss cheese! I need that heavy gun!

Abriael3489d ago

Any arc based machine gun decently upgraded will do that :D

WildArmed3489d ago

Not bad, though you can't nearly be as liberal when taking damage if your anything but a titan. With my titan, I just ran past the first part, did the three waves, ran past the next 2 parts, and then boss.

He was 27 at the time (since I'm leveling his new exotic armor). Cool never the less, I used a fusion rifle + machine gun though. Both work great as long as they are void, dual magnetic grenades make quick work of the shield for wizards, so your fusion / machine gun can do it's work (arc ones that is).

Though, I bet striker would have been a better choice since it does do arc damage. Oh well, done for this week. Not touching that again :O

Palitera3489d ago

Sunsinger is the most fail proof class. Auto revive with good intellect lets you solo nightfall strikes easily.

WildArmed3489d ago

That's true. I am really liking the sun-singer class, but I still prefer defender for soloing harder missions

jackanderson19853489d ago (Edited 3489d ago )

I'm level 24 and managed to solo this. There's a bunch of rocks closer to the middle. Stand in the right spot and the monster thingy will stand just exposed enough that you can fire freely at him with no shots being fired at you. Some guards pop up but they're easily disposed off. Bit of a grind but easiLy done

The spot in question is near the end of the middle platforms at the last pillar. Handy spot

Neonridr3489d ago

how could you even do any damage at level 24 when the guys are 28? I was pretty sure that this wasn't even available to me at Level 24. I thought they don't open up until you are within 2 levels of its requirements.

jackanderson19853489d ago (Edited 3489d ago )

Might be thinking of the heroic/weekly one so. I'll check once I'm home but 100% sure it's this level I've done it on.

Doesn't change the fact there is indeed a spot just ahead of where dual shockers are standing that immobilises the beast and allows free shots with no repercussions

KwietStorm_BLM3489d ago

The weekly strike and the nightfall are the same strike. You might have done the weekly.

Destiny Made Over $160 Million In Microtransaction Revenue In Less Than 2 Years

Destiny has made over $160 million in MTX revenue, and these numbers only account the data from late 2017 to early 2019.

Sgt_Slaughter349d ago

That's extremely low for microtransactions, especially for a game that's essentially designed around it

LucasRuinedChildhood349d ago (Edited 349d ago )

This was back when the game wasn't free to play.

The figures are from November 2017 to February 2019 (1 year and 4 months).

Based on that projection, the MTX revenue for Destiny 2 likely would have been closer to ~$240m for 2 years.

Not sure if premium expansions are included in that figure either although ... I'd hope that they are though and that most of the revenue was for actual content like Forsaken.

People spend way too much money on cosmetics.

Rude-ro349d ago (Edited 349d ago )

Seasons($10 and just got bumped to $12) and dungeon keys($10 each, two a year) are through the eververse(micro transaction) store.
So for those two years, in order to play a season, you would pay through micro transactions.

Sonic1881349d ago (Edited 349d ago )

Bungie Marathon will be worse since it's designed around it as well

Kurt Russell348d ago

It makes me sad to agree... but at the same time I am looking forward to giving it a go. Destiny 2 is so far in, I find it difficult to figure out what I am meant to do first.

buffig349d ago

I think FIFA alone makes over $1bn a year from mtx

anast349d ago

FIFA promotes a worldwide sport. It should make more money than destiny.

CantThinkOfAUsername349d ago (Edited 349d ago )

Let's compare something similar. Apex Legends and its ridiculous $18/$40 skins make EA a billion each year.

z2g349d ago

For as much as ppl complain how much they hate microtransactions, they sure don’t act like it. No wonder they aren’t going anywhere.

spicelicka349d ago

By "people" you're referring to millions and millions of people. Obviously the ones complaining aren't necessarily the same as the ones spending all that money.

There's millions that purchase MTX and there's nothing we can do about it

I've been thinking about playing through D1 again before it goes away...

CobraKai500d ago

That’s the sad reality of a game like this. I bought it, invested lots of money, and it can go away at anytime. I still think this was more fun than 2.

jeromeface499d ago

prob because 2 is a grindfest slog

spoonard497d ago

That's the bummer of 'games as a service'.
