I would be stunned if the PS4 didn't show sun and lens flare. This looks like different times of day by the looks of the stadium shadow and lighter shadows. Digital foundry will look at all of it in depth I am sure.

I dont know if he did or didn't, but I've done this myself a few times, GTA IV being one example where I bought it for both PS3 and 360 and then kept the one that I liked best and traded in the other for the same value that I paid for it.

Shop called CEX in the UK, if you trade the games in shortly after they come out sometimes you get more back than what you paid.

It doesn't take a user here posting a side by side image comparison to disprove this. All it takes is people playing the damn game themselves on PS4 and noting that, yes, there IS flare in that version.

And if there's ANY doubt as to the impartiality of the author or site (Polygon, William Usher, etc) from previous outings, it's actually intelligent to fact check them. Based on other comments here, that indeed seems to be the case.

I'm curious as to why you'd attack him and protect the article, yet you have nothing to confirm what they assert, yourself. The XB1 will never have a graphical/performance advantage over the PS4 in regards to multiplats... unless of course MS pays to have the PS4 version gimped.

The PS4 not only has the superior hardware, but it is also much easier to develop for. So if the PS4 gets a version that is considered inferior whatsoever compared to the XB1 version, then foul play is absolutely confirmed.

Sorry for those who disagree with this fact, but unlike last gen where the PS3 had the hardware advantage but was hard to develop for, and the 360 was easy to develop for but had weaker hardware, the XB1 has no hope as it not only has the inferior hardware, but is also harder to develop for. It's lose-lose. PS4 versions of multiplats will always be better unless it gets gimped. Fact.

Also, the camera is angled differently. Take a look at the hash marks on the field at the 20 yard line. In the Xbox pic you can see the 0 in the 20 yard line...in the PS4 pic you cant. They angled the shots differently so that the sun lens flare is shining through in the XBox pic. I call BS. Nuff said.

I've been to busy with this game to pixel count/compare resolutions/effects etc. Simply put I would rather play the game than look for miniscule differences. I really enjoy this game. From the 6 hr demo to the 10%off the purchase digitally, there is nothing to complain about here.

I've played the game on PS4 though, and there ARE lighting effects and lens flares at points.

That said, odd that the sun is allegedly in the "same position" yet the shadows are different. Different length, the shadows in the bottom right are almost gone... seems the sun is cloud covered in one pic and not in the other in that regard.

Oh and I forgot Madden 15 Remote Play is simply beautiful. You have to see it in action. I was somewhat disappointed by MLB the Show performance. But Madden 15 is spot on. Luckily I hate gridiron games (except Blitz on PS1), so I couldn't care less if true... It wouldn't be too surprising, given EA's new found dedication to MS... and that statement is not a knock, just a fact. EA used to get screwed by the Japanese console manufacturers (namely Nintendo) back in the 8 & 16bit days, as all Western developers did, so as a fellow U.S. based company, who would blame EA for giving MS priority treatment? Hope it's not the case, as realistically, that would mean it may apply to other titles... But considering PS4 got the better version of BF4 visually, then it all even's out in the end.

Not to start a bigger fan war, but anyone on the fence that has both systems and isn't looking to stick with a group of friends one way or the other, the XB1 version does look better.

I pulled up both versions last night and switch back and forth on the inputs multiple times and it's fairly noticeable, specifically the color definition. It was actually noticeable enough that when I starting playing my purchased PS4 copy after EA access that I thought it looked different.

I have my color calibration the same on both of those inputs, so I am not sure if XB1 is using a different color format or range, and I forgot to double check my ps4, but I think I am using YCbCr with limited or full. Usually when I would switch from RGB to YCbCr in infamous the colors washing out was significant so I don't that that is the difference.

Im guessing XB1 was the lead platform for madden considering MS relationship with EA on titanfall and being the primary console for marketing, but color parity shouldn't tough to achieve.

Edit from my post in a dupe aricle: This is using a high end 55" LG that allows for full professional calibration. Out of curiosity after reading others feedback, I tried it on a lower end RCA tv that I have, and the differences were marginal.
