Advanced Warfare to Feature Third-Person Option After Launch

GoodGameBro writes, "The Call of Duty series has continually been one of the highest-selling series each year, and that trend looks to continue with Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. Sledgehammer recently revealed quite a few new changes to the movement system in the latest entry of the franchise, there appears to be another major change coming as well."

I am probably not going to buy this, but I did enjoy 3rd person in mw2 and I am glad they are bringing it back.

mixolydian_id3537d ago

It'll be a great game man. They're implementing tiled resources. So the frame rate will be silky smooth me thinks!

As for the 3rd person feature... it was cool in MW2.
The mechanic itself was a bit broken... but it was fun nonetheless!

LackTrue4K3538d ago (Edited 3538d ago )

Going to skip Battlefield Hardline, and try my luck on this game.

Last COD game I played was MW2 and the game after that (forgot the name). I think it's gameplay will feel new by now.

3rd person view ftMFW. Day one purchase based on this alone

Tdmd3538d ago

I had ZERO interest in any CoD 'till now! lol

awi59513537d ago

Thats bad its umbalanced as crap they did this is ghost recon 2 3rd person had a advantage because you could turn the camara to see around corners and first person was screwed. Atleast they had a force camera view option for hosts on ghost recon 2 though.

Well then, count me in after 6 years of not giving a hoot but not hating on those who did.

Chaos_Raiden3538d ago

Awesome. Would be glad to buy this game if this happens.

Hellsvacancy3538d ago (Edited 3538d ago )

I like the idea of this, more fps games should do it, Battlefield for example, it's one of the reasons I liked the early Hitman games so much because you had a choice of 1st/3rd person view, then Absolution came along and didn't even bother

Point is, i'm all for a 3rd person view in a 1st person game

LucasRuinedChildhood3538d ago (Edited 3538d ago )

The three year development cycle seems to be paying off. This game actually looks great. I was really annoyed when they removed this mode from MW2, so it's nice to see it make a comeback.

I'd imagine this is going to be particularly awesome because of double-jumps, dashs, etc.

C_Ali883536d ago

Lucas,

I see why it's so hard for you to accept some games are crap, you play COD!!! What are you 13? Or are you actually 35 and trying to relive your ruined childhood? Either way stop being such a crybaby next time you wish to debate don't try to estimate my age or what games I enjoy unless I've expressly told you what those games are. You only make yourself look like a petulant child who's angry his favorite toy was called trash.

Grow up!!!

LucasRuinedChildhood3535d ago (Edited 3535d ago )

lol, why are you still harrassing me? Get lost. I've enjoyed a few of the CoDs. So what? You probably have too. A game like Cod is not reflective of one's age. However, your immaturity is.

That is a shame. AW is my favourite CoD. I hope they do a sequel one day.

LordoftheCritics384d ago

Thoroughly enjoyed AW.

Good campaign and everything.

LOGICWINS384d ago

Same. Fantastic campaign, but I wasn't crazy about the jetpacks in multiplayer.

RaidenBlack384d ago

I still prefer CoD based on historical settings or in near future settings(like CoD: Ghost) ... even though I liked infinite Warfare's campaign ... it was top notch

CobraKai384d ago

I felt it was a good time to revisit WW2

porkChop384d ago

I actually really enjoyed WWII. I never understood the hate it got.

JEECE384d ago

A lot of people who never played a shooter prior to like 2012 get really mad about anything that isn't a modern combat game.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare remains the series' lone bright spot this gen

GR: "If one series truly defined the seventh generation of consoles it was Call of Duty. Sadly, the series has struggled to reach the same heights on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and only Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare feels like the previous era of innovation and top-notch storytelling."

I quite enjoyed it but I think black ops 3 was the high point.

Modern warfare could be if a few tweaks are made and the new maps are good.

Baza1633d ago (Edited 1633d ago )

Story wise.. black opps 3 was all over the place. Modern Warfare story is so much more cohesive and actually makes sense.

Immorals1633d ago

Black ops 3 was terrible. The story was absolutely atrocious.

Knushwood Butt1633d ago

I quit that campaign after about an hour. All I remember is some crappy robot drone combat R2D2 thing that you had to use. I didn't make it past that.

Epicor1632d ago

For me the Black Ops installations have always been the high peaks in terms of PVP mode. Black ops 3 campaign was pretty bad though. Advanced Warfare's campaign was pretty good, one of the best ones - but PVP was bad!

gamer91633d ago

LOL Advanced Warfare, too funny

Kabaneri1633d ago

The campaign was OK, but the guns sounded like cap guns and the multiplayer maps were not memorable at all.
