Check Out the First Gameplay from Platinum Games' The Legend of Korra - Comic Con 2014

Platinum and Activision sit down with Greg and Marty from IGN to show off their upcoming action game based on the Nickelodeon TV show.

move forward fight, move forward fight, move forward fight, move forward fight, move forward fight,

ughhhh, yeah very original game :/

Pretty disappointing from a Platinum games. MGS Rising you can say it has the same mechanics but its cutting mechanics, action , music made it shine. This Korra game just look so average and boring.

Golden_Mud3574d ago

Looks like Activision cheapen on them .

vishmarx3574d ago (Edited 3574d ago )

its a psn/xbl title to a tv show,
a show, mind you that just got pulled off of network.
were you expecting an mgs budget?
also the game looks fine to me,just what i was expecting

Blackcanary3573d ago

Even though its no longer gonna be on TV. The series is gonna continue to air Online because its doing better on the internet.

Shadonic3574d ago (Edited 3574d ago )

You have a very slanted view of how developers work with different series and franchises. It honestly looks pretty good, would like to see something with that style mixed with the combat of the Ultimate Ninja storm series. Plus the whole moving forward thing is most likely just made for demonstrations mostly never seen in the final product as virtually everything you see related to a game at any convention is.

KnightRobby3574d ago

Now all they have to do is make one with Ang and all of those other great characters. Love The Last Airbender and the Avatar as a franchise! It is so deserving of an open world imo.

Sharingan_no_Kakashi3573d ago

Exactly what I feared. I'm a big Korra fan and this isn't Korra. The animations are suppose to be smooth and fluid not fast and stiff. The gameplay looks boring too.

XiSasukeUchiha3573d ago

Agreed Kakashi I'm also an big korra fan, and man this is scary!

Yes but, what an amazing show! It has cool action that mixes martial-arts and elemental magic, a compelling story and is actually funny.
It would be expected they manage to capture the essence of the show in the game. It's work-in-progress, but damn the game looks blend for now.
A bummer!!!

mkis0073574d ago

It costs $15 so I think it is at least priced right

masterfox3574d ago

wow 15 Bucks? didn't know that, I think this answers all, but don't get me wrong there are games that costs 15 bucks and are amazing.

DEATHxTHExKIDx3574d ago

This looks pretty decent so far and only 15$ sounds like a fair deal.

Hideki Kamiya On Why He Left PlatinumGames, His YouTube Channel, and His Next Game

In a wide-ranging interview with IGN, game developer legend Hideki Kamiya reveals why he left Bayonetta maker PlatinumGames and what's next.

darthv72144d ago

Long shot here but with him out of the picture... MS could get PG to finish Scalebound. As it is, the project was shelved and Ms still had all the work they had done up to that point. HK's mismanagement of multiple projects is what caused MS to pull the plug, but I feel they still wanted to get it done at some point.

gold_drake142d ago

if MS hasnt picked it up yet,it will never return. it was cancelled in 2017. 6 years ago.

MS owns the IP, not PlatinumGames.

Cacabunga142d ago

I have been waiting for a new Vanquish for a long time!! I barely imagine how the result could be on PS5

isarai144d ago

Sounds like Tencent influence was something he wasn't down with.

Levii_92143d ago

Sorry, you have been blocked by Hideki Kamiya. ❌

Zenzuu143d ago

“My work with Platinum Games was based on a relationship of trust with the company. I decided to leave because I felt that the direction the company was heading in was different from my beliefs as a developer. Without that element of trust, I couldn’t continue working there, and so I left, so that I could continue working in what I consider to be the right way.

“I don't think of games as products, but rather as works of art. I want to put my artistry into games and deliver games that could only be made by Hideki Kamiya, so that players can enjoy Hideki Kamiya games exactly as they are. I decided to leave the company and forge my own path, to continue making games that reflect the developers who made them.”

Hideki Kamiya will be leaving PlatinumGames on October 12, 2023

Hideki Kamiya will be leaving PlatinumGames on October 12, 2023.

-Mika-225d ago

Phil better have that check ready. Hideki expertise and knowledge would be a great asset to the Xbox team and can possibly bring growth in the Asia region.

VersusDMC225d ago

Phil already canceled a Kamiya game(Scalebound) so we know he doesn't have the check ready. And that check couldn't keep Shinji Mikami there either...but maybe?

CrimsonWing69225d ago

I’m still bitter about that cancellation. Even if it was in dev hell he could’ve given it to an internal studio.

Obscure_Observer224d ago

@CrimsonWing69

"I’m still bitter about that cancellation. Even if it was in dev hell he could’ve given it to an internal studio."

Are you crazy???

That would be extremely disrespectful!

Michiel1989224d ago

@obscure as if one of ms's own studios would know how to get the game out the door in a great way. Remember what happened when they did that with Duke Nukem Forever?

20nmrtnz225d ago

Tencent and Netease around the corner: Bonjour!

AdonisIsBeast224d ago (Edited 224d ago )

Was the 69 billion dollar acquisition plus 8 billion for Zenimax not enough lol?

-Foxtrot225d ago

How sudden, I wonder what changed.

Maybe after the certain story choices and direction for Bayonetta 3 they can hopefully make it more like the first two games.

justsomeoffdude225d ago

i've always felt platinum games lack of growth/failures can be traced back to kamiya. He seems like a very troublesome person to work with
