Destiny Beta: This Is Why Titan Are The Best

In ancient Greek Mythology Titans were a primeval race of mighty deities, descendants of the all powerful Gaia (Earth and Uranus (Sky). These formidable Demi Gods reigned during the legendary Golden Era. They were immortal giants with super strength and the religious Gods of the Greeks.

Comparing each character class in Bungie's Destiny, PS4.sx breaks down why Hunter And Warlock Are Choir Boys Compared To the mighty Titan

alvinmiller923565d ago

All my friends are choosing Titans because they are the best, at least from my Beta experience. I can't wait to level my Titan to 20. OMG thats going to be sick.

Majin-vegeta3565d ago

Highest level is 8 in the beta.Unless you're talking full release??

henrythomas2843565d ago

I am sure he is referring to full release. Titans can take a licking and keep on ticking. I am just not following the Titan Hype so giving Warlock a chance at least in the Beta, gives me something to look forward to in September.

alvinmiller923565d ago

yes I am talking about the full release version. I heard Titans are rising gods just like the article describes and at level 20 they are supposed to be almost indestructible.

aragon3565d ago

they should do a good comparison of all classes strengths and weaknesses did warlock on ps3 beta started with hunter on 360 but ive heard lots about the titan wonder if he really is OP?

ITPython3565d ago

I've been having a lot of fun with the Warlock, haven't tried the other classes yet.

One annoying thing is PvP, it seems everyone and their mother can OHK me while they are all bullet sponges for my AR. Though I have cleared out rooms with my special, so at least it's not all bad being a weak armored Warlock in PvP.

EdnaJones973565d ago

Bungie's admission of taking inspiration from the original Titan Gods in greek mythology is proof enough that they are the strongest of all the classes, though I have to confess I am having too much fun as a Hunter.

Cryptcuzz3565d ago

For some reason I get my ass handed to me so much using my Hunter. Even when shooting the enemy first, many times they would turn around and end up killing me so quick. Plus the Hunter needs an area effect super charge. In Control, one Titan can kill everyone that is standing there trying to capture a flag.

Maybe I just suck :(

TheFallenAngel3565d ago (Edited 3565d ago )

Yea I'm having fun with my hunter too. I eat titans for breakfast. Destiny is easily the best shooter of the year. My expectations has been surpassed by a long mile. The amount of depth and polish in this game is amazing. I feel like bungie outdid themselves. This game will be hard to top

Blasphemy3565d ago

You basing all this on the beta? There is not much to the beta I am just wandering how big the final game will be. I'm assuming huge if they really did spend half a billion dollars on this game.

ArronNelson3565d ago

I am not convinced about Titans until I play the full version and see these new subclasses at level 15 and up.

Frankskint3565d ago

Bungie shut up and take my money now. I wonder if we can all petition for the DestinyBeta to stay open until September 9th?

oODEADPOOLOo3565d ago (Edited 3565d ago )

I chose the Titan because I thought it would be easiest to pick up, so far really liking it. I meele roughly half my kills, there's nothing like sucker punching an enemy from behind.

patelsanjeed3565d ago

Lol, I like melee punching enemies from the back too. Nothing worse than being sucker punched.

charliewong9803565d ago

Dammit I hate when that happens. I prefer playing as a Hunter and picking my prey from a nice safe distance. Headshot BOOM Shackalacka!

Destiny Made Over $160 Million In Microtransaction Revenue In Less Than 2 Years

Destiny has made over $160 million in MTX revenue, and these numbers only account the data from late 2017 to early 2019.

Sgt_Slaughter332d ago

That's extremely low for microtransactions, especially for a game that's essentially designed around it

LucasRuinedChildhood332d ago (Edited 332d ago )

This was back when the game wasn't free to play.

The figures are from November 2017 to February 2019 (1 year and 4 months).

Based on that projection, the MTX revenue for Destiny 2 likely would have been closer to ~$240m for 2 years.

Not sure if premium expansions are included in that figure either although ... I'd hope that they are though and that most of the revenue was for actual content like Forsaken.

People spend way too much money on cosmetics.

Rude-ro332d ago (Edited 332d ago )

Seasons($10 and just got bumped to $12) and dungeon keys($10 each, two a year) are through the eververse(micro transaction) store.
So for those two years, in order to play a season, you would pay through micro transactions.

Sonic1881332d ago (Edited 332d ago )

Bungie Marathon will be worse since it's designed around it as well

Kurt Russell331d ago

It makes me sad to agree... but at the same time I am looking forward to giving it a go. Destiny 2 is so far in, I find it difficult to figure out what I am meant to do first.

buffig332d ago

I think FIFA alone makes over $1bn a year from mtx

anast332d ago

FIFA promotes a worldwide sport. It should make more money than destiny.

CantThinkOfAUsername332d ago (Edited 332d ago )

Let's compare something similar. Apex Legends and its ridiculous $18/$40 skins make EA a billion each year.

z2g332d ago

For as much as ppl complain how much they hate microtransactions, they sure don’t act like it. No wonder they aren’t going anywhere.

spicelicka332d ago

By "people" you're referring to millions and millions of people. Obviously the ones complaining aren't necessarily the same as the ones spending all that money.

There's millions that purchase MTX and there's nothing we can do about it

I've been thinking about playing through D1 again before it goes away...

CobraKai483d ago

That’s the sad reality of a game like this. I bought it, invested lots of money, and it can go away at anytime. I still think this was more fun than 2.

jeromeface482d ago

prob because 2 is a grindfest slog

spoonard480d ago

That's the bummer of 'games as a service'.
