Man these guys have balls of steel. Even after Gearbox sued them they're still going for it.

MadLad3665d ago

I think they know that, if anything, they may just have the people on their side. Whereas Gearbox has really been screwing up as of recently, Duke Nukem being very much a part of that, Interceptor has at least proven they can make a solid enough tribute to the shooters of old in the way of the Rise of the Triad remake.

Rockefellow3664d ago

Having "the people on your side" doesn't mean a thing in a court room, even if the game turns out great and people buy it in droves.

And just to clarify for you, this isn't really in the vein of a tribute to old school shooters such as the (pretty good) Rise of the Triad-- it's a top-down RPG.

MadLad3664d ago

Point being these are guys that prove they can do an old work justice. I'll give you that I thought this the Duke Nukem mod project they were working on before being shot down.

According to them they actually own the Duke Nukem license. Apparently the rights were contractually supposed to revert back to them after a while and Gearbox is just being anal. That's what I heard anyway. Anyone has any confirmation on that?

Venoxn4g3664d ago

I still hope they still have files of Duke Nukem 3D remake on Unreal 3 engine they were doing before.. and I hope they gonna release it one day :)

Reviews2Go3665d ago

Sweet. I'm glad they're still going for this. Very interested in playing the game on the Vita :)

TitanUp3664d ago

these games aren't for everyone and me personally i cant stand them that being said i hope these developers get to make the game they want.

greenking453664d ago

don't think i can stomach another duke nukem game after the last one.

madpuppy3664d ago

would you feel that way if one out of all the MGS made was bad and done by another studio?

randomass1713664d ago

Dude, Revengeance was awesome.

madpuppy3663d ago (Edited 3663d ago )

personally, MGS has 1 too many naked men and guys taking a dump for my tastes. (wtf is up with that, anyway?) Bleck!!

This Is What Duke Nukem: Mass Destruction Looked Like Before Gearbox Sued

Last year, Interceptor Entertainment, the developer of the recent Rise of the Triad remake, and 3D Realms launched a teaser website for Duke Nukem: Mass Destruction, a top-down action role-playing game for PC and PlayStation. However, a lawsuit from Gearbox Software, the current holder of the Duke Nukem IP, made Intercept put that game on hold.

Why poop the party, Gearbox?

Svinya3266d ago

...because they own the ip?

Bass_fisherman3266d ago

yeah but at least now 3D realms can buy it back aparently.

diesoft3266d ago

Why hasn't there been a duke nukem metroidvania?

KryptoniteTail3266d ago

I love when games switch genres (for spinoffs). I want a topdown shooter, or Metroidvania style Duke Nukem. Even a Tactical RPG would be interesting.

I got balls of steel! Blow it out your ass! 😎😎😎😎😂😂😂 would love to play this :D

TeamLeaptrade3266d ago

Duke Nukem deserves a good game. Anyways, I might have to check these guy's game out now, looks promising.
