Nice! I'm glad to see Respawn's baby doing so well, if not because the game is great, than simply to rub it in Infinity Ward's face.

OrangePowerz3682d ago

I think Infinity Ward will be just fine. MS didn't release any press release touting how many copies they sold so it won't be that much sales wise.

UnbiasedOpinions3682d ago

@Orange, i think EA would be releasing the numbers, and they have investors to answer to so i doubt they have a choice, they have to reveal the numbers at some point and the reason they haven't yet is most likely they are waiting for the game to be fully released on ALL platforms first

Neonridr3682d ago

if Titanfall didn't sell that many copies, then Infamous - which was only at #4 would have sold even less.

Mr Pumblechook3682d ago

I definitely think Titanfall will have longer legs than inFamous. But things to note are that these figures include sales of the 360 version. Microsoft & EA did not give out sales figures of the Xbone edition in the UK.

Lawboy23682d ago

@ mr pumblestock

no they do not the 360 version didn't release until april..this is march

OrangePowerz3682d ago

Given the importance of the game to MS they woupd have said something about how well it sold or how many players are online. I don't think they sold as much as they wanted.

How much EA cares about their investors is also questionable, they sabotaged the 360 sales by delaying the game and having zero marketing for it so MS can sell more X1 consoles.

@Neo

It would yes, but TF also had a week longer and was also released for PC and not only one platform.

marlinfan103682d ago (Edited 3682d ago )

@unbiased.

investors don't worry about the sales of every single thing that releases for the company they're invested in. thats just not how it works. thats like saying the investors are worried about xbox sales. as long as the company comes out positive at the end of the quarter, the investors could care less what each product does sales wise

"How much EA cares about their investors is also questionable"

No. No it really isn't.

Infinity Ward's face or Activision?

UnbiasedOpinions3682d ago (Edited 3682d ago )

Really great to see new IP's being successful, maybe other publishers will take more risks, lets hope Watch Dogs and Destiny share the same success, as the Triple A market seems to be going downhill

its also great to see the new consoles doing well, gaming is
coming out GUNZ BLAZING pew pew pew

Also if the success of Titanfall bothers you even a little bit, a successful brand new IP, then your not a true gamer
and your the problem with the industry, had to get that out

mcstorm3682d ago

Don't know why you got some disagrees. As a gamer ive gotten bored of the Yoy games. I have a xbox one and a WiiU and I decided to get them as they had exclusives I wanted like Forza, KI, Mario Lands, DK, Pikmin ect as none of the current 3rd party games AC, COD, BF ect for me have just gotten old and its nice to see fresh IP's Like Titanfall come out and I am hoping this is the start of many new IP's this gen. For me another one im excited about is DriverClub and when this is out ill be picking up a PS4 to complete my next gen collection.

pakua3682d ago (Edited 3682d ago )

Can't believe that inFamous only ended up 4th. The game did come out rather late in the month (only a week later than Titanfall though) but didn't do as well as expected.

To be fair, the FPS genre is much bigger than any other on consoles so I guess it was to be expected. I didn't enjoy inFamous or Titanfall though, roll on better games.

Playstation owners dont buy as many games as xbox owners, thats true.

It would be better for Sony if their fans would be so aktive in buying games instead of beeing aktive in forums or n4g xD

Although the late 2000s Turok wasn't my favorite, I would love a new entry. Open world survival with shotguns and dinosaurs. Not sure how we'd get the fusion cannon, but that would be pretty sweet too.

MadLad612d ago

Lol

All of these games are pretty much universally praised. Outside of Timeshift I literally own all of these.

Venoxn4g611d ago (Edited 611d ago )

XIII, The Darkness 2, Far Cry: Blood Dragon, Timesplitters: future perfect, Bulletstorm are awesome games

gurp12d ago

I played them all, they are all good in their own way
I used to be obsessed with FPS games

An ode to Titanfall: The last twitch shooter I'll probably ever enjoy

Windows Central: "Titanfall 1 is being sunset, taken off storefronts by EA. While the servers remain live for now, one has to wonder just how much time it has left. I look back and pay tribute to the last "twitch"-styled shooter I ever truly loved."

Physical media. Unfortunately the way games are going these days game servers will eventually be shut down and you can stare at the menu and wish you could play the game again.

littletad892d ago

This is why reading is so important. Nothing to do with digital or physical media. The game, which is online only, is being delisted because of DDOS and other hacker attacks. The case got so bad that only six players in the world log on. For PC. Rather than fix it, they continued to sell the game, broken as it is, and only now just decided to call it quits. But please, go on thinking what you will.

Ethereal891d ago

I'm aware of the DDOS attacks and that this case is not typical. This game would eventually have it's servers shutdown regardless of the current situation so that is a moot point. My comment was in a general sense and that there are instances in which games can be preserved physically when official support ends.

Let's recap your first sentence. I said, "the way GAMES are going these days" indicating a broader stroke than just this game. I agree, reading IS important. I was simply stating the obvious downsides of the digital marketplaces and online only trends in games these days. I could even make the argument that the online only offering which has allowed hacker manipulation has impacted the preservation of this great game. My comment is valid in the general sense and thank you for your permission to continue to think what I will.
