Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel Announced, Full Details Here

XBA: The rumours were (mostly) true. Gearbox Software and 2K Australia have announced Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, a standalone game for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. It’s being developed by 2K Australia in collaboration with Gearbox.

Reactions are generally meh so far. I don't know if fans really asked for this. Sounds like a sequel would've been fine, not that this prequel won't advance some mechanics or add to 2, but they described it being smaller than 2, but bigger than 1. So more tight focused content? I don't know how to interpret that statement.

I can understand the necessity to bring it to last-gen, but why not have a PS4/XBO version along with it? It just seems really stupid to not do it.

I kind of like this more than I thought I would.

* Looks good STILL because of Art Style > Realism

* New classes

* New Location & gameplay types help keep it different.

* More of the same = A good thing

* Something to hold us over until the real Next/current gen game releases 2-3 years from now.

* I'll be getting it on PC though.

Im pretty sure this is filler for the fan base till Gearbox announce Borderlands 3 for next-gen.

As some one previously said, this is the Arkham Origins of the Borderlands series.

I still have my PS3, but I was hoping for a PS4 game. :/ I'll just get it on PC. Borderlands 2 looks phenomenal on PC.

Those particle physX are amazing. I still play borderlands 2 on pc to this day. It was actually a great port from console.

Borderlands is a very popular franchise. There still isn't a big library on either next gen consoles yet. For the people who took the leap to next gen (myself included) this game would be a must. It sucks buying a new toy you cant play with.

My biggest disappointment in this reveal is that the game i being developed by 2K Marin (Australia) rather than by Gearbox. First of all because they developed the very lackluster The Bureau, and also because I feel that when franchises are handed to another studio, it often ends up being a lesser product. Bioshock 2, while good wasn't as good as the first one, or Infinite. Arkham Origins was arguably the weakest entry in the series. Gears of War Judgement is another example.

I have PS3 but I don't think I'll buy it I am getting ready to shift from PS3 to PS4.
