Push Square: "PlayStation’s enjoying one of the most prolific periods in its history. The start to 2017 has seen the release of several high-profile first-party games, like Gravity Rush 2 and Horizon: Zero Dawn. But being a glass half-empty kinda guy, I feel it could have been even better: what the heck happened with What Remains of Edith Finch and RiME?"
What Remains of Edith Finch is a game I've been putting off for a while now. I'm not really sure why I waited so long. I already knew it was good. I think we all did. Thankfully, the latest PS5 port featuring a fix of the slowdown issue in the game's opening minutes, as well as the new addition of a PS5 trophy list and a platinum trophy, really sealed the deal for me.
This is one of the best walking sims I have played. Lewis' story was a solid piece of writing.

Well with RIME the devs wanted their IP rights and some freedom to develop.
I remember a lot of people doubting them for some reason- all that fake gameplay accusation- poor dev was reduced to tears 😟 But ALAS! The game is getting great reviews albeit a bit divisive. But overall great ones and so the dev can smile.
Plus more people get to taste the sauce so its good.
Does it matter anymore?
- The game is still on PS4.
- Sony still get a cut for their in their platform
- PS4 gamers can still play the game
- Tequila gets the PS4 gamers money and some extra from other platforms
- Sony still has Horizon, Persona 5, and Nioh, which are some of the best games of the year too
- What it Edith Finch?
Not a loss for Sony in the slightest. Celebrate that the game has succeded and that everyone can play it instead of acting like the sky has fallen on PS4
I think it was Tequila choice to stay independent. But in the end, Rime is getting great review.
