Uncharted: The Lost Legacy ‘Tonally Different’ to Uncharted 4; Gameplay Going a ‘Little More Wide’

Naughty Dog has recently shed some more light on upcoming Uncharted 4: A Thief's End story expansion, The Lost Legacy.

It's included in the season pass for UC4 if you already have it, but it's also being sold and marketed as a standalone expansion rather than a conventional piece of DLC. It'll likely be around $20 on its own.

I would bet the game is more than $20, i would almost guarantee it. This is much bigger than TLoU Left Behind dlc. Probably a minimum $24.99 or $29.99. I want the physical anyway though.

It used to be part of the season pass, but after December 18 I believe they removed the season pass from the psn store (probably because they'll charge more for the standalone dlc) Who ever bought the pass before that date will get this free, everyone else will have to pay a premium.
Naughty dog put that on their official page, so I made sure to purchase it. I'm pretty sure it will be a 30$ plus dlc

The sp dlc turned into an entire game and the ppl that got the season pass are lucky. I remember certain ppl criticising the triple pack when it was released saying it was greed by ND. Umm not so much now huh?

The "Triple Pack" which released with the game is not on PlayStation Store anymore and was replaced in June, but anyone who got that also gets the Single Player DLC.

I just meant carry over some more adult tones and settings that are probably more familiar with LoU (the trailer gave me that feel). I don't want or expect Joel or a ticker to pop up or anything.

No. The same company makes both games. You don't need to take from one. The tone of The Last of Us is great for that series. Uncharted has always been a more lighthearted venture. That's great. Why make a more somber toned entry?

You're taking my post to extremes no? I'm not asking them to turn it into LoU, I could of simply meant the tone of the dialogue. Maybe you expect Chloe and co to be cracking jokes and one liners like Nath and Sam etc?

Taking inspiration (or tone) from one to the other doesn't mean making them the same. It can be subtle. That's usually what tonally implies.

ND themselves have been clear they take inspiration from one franchise to another and it seems to have worked thus far.

Uh no? There isn't a new uncharted every year. Aside from the remaster and golden abyss which was a vita game...uncharted 3 came out in 2011. That's a 5 year gap.

Naughty Dog are like Sony's Halo/Gears, Sony let them do what they want. Besides TLoU will likely go on to be an even bigger seller than Uncharted (TLoU sold 10+m, the first Uncharted around 3m), so it's easy to leave on a high, instead of run Uncharted into the ground.

As for your "Uncharted has been released every gen" comment, no it hasn't, how can you be so ignorant when it takes literally seconds to check? The first Uncharted game released in 2007.

Lol Spectre meant Halo's not even close to Uncharted, as you well know. No matter how you cut it, critical reviews, user reviews, sales, draw to the console, graphics, broadness of appeal - Uncharted has Halo beat hands down, these days.

Have no idea what "a little more wide" means but I hope it's totally different. Don't know if it's just me tiring of the series but really struggled to get through U4. Got really fed up of the predictable cheesyness of it. The series has been great but feels like it's run off. Was hoping they'd get started on a brand new IP.

Could well be. I do have OCD when it comes to games. I like to try & go everywhere, see & find everything. I feel like it could of benefitted from actually being more linear. Because I ended up spending the majority of the game stressing that I had missed areas but couldn't be bothered to search anymore. So admittedly it was a lose, lose situation. I've just not had that in the series before.

I definitely did find I'm tiring of the uncharted humour though.

When I get my platinum headset though I'll definitely give it another chance with a run through with 3D audio.

I'm so excited for this game. The demo at E3 was so darn good & suspenseful. I'm really curious to see how the gameplay, as a whole, differs from Drake's gameplay. The combat in the demo looked pretty great.

I remember when it was announced Amy was no longer with ND, and that Bruce & Neil were taking over for Uncharted 4, I remember so many different reactions like " Omgosh, now Uncharted's going to be dark & brutal, like TLoU" "Thank God. Amy directing Uncharted 4 was a mistake to begin with, after the disaster that's U3" "Is this the end of ND as we know it" (that comment really took me by surprise ) considering Bruce & Neil both worked on the first 2 Uncharted games. They know these characters! It's not like they hired or brought on people from a completely different studio to take over.

At the end of the day, I'm genuinely very happy & grateful Bruce & Neil were brought on board for U4, and the end result/game/their vision of U4 was the best in the series "in my opinion" Incredible game! There's a lot of TLoU influence in it, in terms of how to tell a more personable, human story, with the characters feeling more believable than ever before, compared to the previous Uncharted games, along with the combat. U4 "in my opinion" NEVER strayed away from the core essence of what made Uncharted special from the get go. Much Respect & Love to Amy tho. She's a genuinely good hearted person who's amazingly talented & I believe she'll continue to do great things. Looking forward to her Star Wars game :)

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy will certainly be "Tonally Different from U4, considering Chloe is the main character, and Nadine's like Elena, Sully, and Sam all rolled into one, lol. Joking. But she'll be there with Chloe for a good deal of the game or fair amount. Also, Chloe's very different from Drake, and Nadine's very different from Drake, Sully, Elena, and Charlie. Chloe & Nadine's personality's trying to work together will no doubt make for some great moments & storytelling. Looks fantastic! Other developers, please take notes from ND & CDPR on how to do DLC or Standalone content with genuine Respect, Love & Care.
