Lastly, I'm only on chapter 13, while I really am enjoying the game its not a 10. A 8.9-9 for sure but not a 10.

It appears Halo isn't even Halo anymore. Halo was once known for great single player and great MP, now its just MP that is relevant. Also, at least Sony understands the concept of letting an IP rest and trying something new, while Im sure Halo will get an announcement at E3 for a fall 2017 title.

On topic though, I have yet to play either game yet. I am actually heading to Best Buy tonight to pick both of them up. I will be playing Quantum Break first, and then Uncharted 4, at which point I'll be able to form my own opinion. But the general consensus is that Uncharted 4 is the better game in pretty much every aspect. Regardless of how good Uncharted 4 is, I am going to judge Quantum Break on its own merits.

Quantum Break was a mid-budget game made, the first with no prequels. Uncharted 4 is a series that is built on the improvements of the earlier games. QB noble try that it is cannot compete.

But Gears of War 4 is a massive budget game. Microsoft paid crazy mulah for it. They even renamed a studio in dedication to the Gears franchise. It has the very best people Microsoft can hire, the best developers, the best scriptwriters. It will be 1080p 60fps and it will have a story so good it will make people demand it be given an Oscar...

I think they're both good games. But UC4 is head and shoulders better than QB on so many levels it's hard to take the question posed seriously. I actually thought ROTTR was a better SP game than QB was, and ROTTR/UC are closer in comparison to each other. QB had it's interesting aspects, but it didn't really pull together well. ROTTR had a rather boring story and uninteresting characters, but it all worked together in the game play and presentation parts of the game. UC4 just kind of hit all the right notes, with the only major criticism I can think of being that it did lull in a couple places, but the platforming elements and getting around were good enough so it wasn't a boring lull, and in some of them they did manage to keep the story going, making it more interesting.

I'm pretty sure Remedy's contracts require analogous comparisons to use Nissan....not Ford.

But more in response, the budget itself, and how many people working on it does not mean that the games can be compared equitably. When I'm playing a game, and comparing it to another game, I'm not thinking, "Well, Game A had have the budget and 1/4 the staff". I'm thinking, "OK, Game A is sloppy in this area which is affecting my experience". Remedy and MS marketed it's game as a AAA game, and as such, the lack of staff/resources excuse doesn't really fly. QB is impressive in it's own right, and some of it is more impressive due to their resources and budget, but that doesn't make it a better game.

Both games fall into the Action/Adventure genres so it is possible to compare them (sort off).

Personally, when I play a game I want to play a game and not watch a live TV show or excessively long cut-scenes, so without even comparing other factors such as gameplay Quantum Break has just lost. Of course, there will be people who do like the so-called marriage of live action to game-play which is fine but I and many millions of other players have little if any interest in this type of style.

I am well aware that Fanboys will downvote me and some will say that how can I judge a game that I have never played. Well, I have never played Uncharted 4 either but I do know that having played Uncharted 1 and 2 that 4 which is on my to-do list is going to be a great game. As for Quantum Break, I don't have an XB1 and my PC does not run a Microsoft OS although if I really wanted (which I don't) I could run one in a virtual machine, so this begs the question how can I critique this game?

I am fully capable of looking at reviews and gameplay for Quantum Break and from what I have seen the gameplay looks interesting although I did see some annoying but minor bugs. What was a total turn off was the so-called marriage of live action and gameplay although as I have mentioned some people will like this.

I have both and enjoying them both and I think both games are 9/10 in my book.

Feels great to be able to play both and make my own assessment for them , and not armchair QB about it . And why compare the two games when they are not even on the same system, genre, or age. More people can play both then what you think considering you can play Xbox games on PC now. And IMO Quantum break is a clear step below in every aspect compared to Uncharted. Saying Uncharted 4 and Quantum break are boths 9's. Is like Ray Charles saying green and blue are the same color.

It's fair to say you didn't see any TLoU comparisons because Microsoft did not have a game the could be compared to it when it released. Unless of course you want to compare it to Gears of War Judgement, which is an established IP; in which case TLoU, a new IP, destroys it.

You can't really blame people for comparing Uncharted 4 and Quantum Break, especially considering so many Xbox fans claim Remedy is Microsofts Naughty Dog. You want to put Remedy on the same caliber as Naughty Dog (not you particularly), expect comparisons between games.

Again when don't need the full breakdown of what each score is. The average score for the game is a 77. Who cares how it got a 77 or who gave what score, the average is 77. Which is only 2 points higher then the lowest score a ND game has ever scored.

I played the whole game twice back to back and I sure as hell never noticed. I only know about it because I read it here on N4G.

Of course I'm just playing the game for fun and not doing a detailed analysis of it, so that probably has something to do with it.

To my understanding for the longest time ppl were comparing The Order to QB. Like those 2 games are going head to head for a while. I take it The Order isn't of the talks these days so we're gonna compare a newer Ip to a established critically acclaimed one. All here still want to convince themselves that QB is a bad game when that couldn't be further from the truth, as far as I'm concerned the e game scored great, a mixed bag but overall favored. If you want a fair comparison compare Uncharted: Drakes Fortune which holds a high 88 Quantum Break a new Ip and still has much room for improvement in hopefully future installments, so the game holds a good score of 77 10 points behind Uncharted.

QB is considered Uncharted coattails for a new Ip that's considered a pass or a great game. QB again still has much room for improvement. Comparing a established game to a brand new one is not quite accurate imo. With that being said even though its a matter of opinion Uncharted 4 is the much better game overall.

QB is a good IP I think. It needs some work. I feel it didn't have any of the charm of the first UC game, or subsequent titles, and I feel it's world, and even story, was rather bland in comparison to The Order.

I dunno if i'd want to see a return to QB in the same way it was done for the first. The mechanics, while interesting, didn't lead to a varied enough experience to sustain an entire game. The presentation itself needs to change and do away with the TV cutscene stuff, and try to integrate its story more into the game itself, because disconnecting the player from the game just didn't work, and keeping story elements contained to collectibles just isn't a good idea when you have other characters around to be able to deliver it more dynamically.

I think I'd like to see them try a sequel to QB, but only if they actually flesh out the world more, and make more interesting characters.

I've never cared for Halo, yet KZ2 is one of my all time favorite shooters.

I can understand why people didn't like it though, I was just playing KZ2 again last weekend after far too much time spent with games like Destiny and The Division. Playing those games ruined my shooter skills, I really suck at KZ2 now. I've gotten so used to these popular shooters with the stupidly strong autoaim that it was almost impossible to get a headshot in KZ2.

I think I need to replay KZ2 on Elite difficulty a couple times so that I can relearn to aim again.

Everyone has different play styles...

Do you like a more fast paced shooter or a more tactical one?
Do you like to ADS or hip-fire?
Do you like objective-oriented modes or just TDM?

I could go on, but my point is that the type of play style you prefer will determine which FPS you think is better. As *overall* games I don't think there is any KZ game that I can definitively say is better than any single Halo game as Halo over years have excelled in both SP and MP, while KZ has either done well in one and faltered in the other or did poor in both aspects.

KZ2 is up there among the best in regards to multiplayer. It's not crazy for someone to prefer that specific game over other acclaimed shooters. The other KZs on the other hand...

Saying it sucks in comparison is why people may not agree with the comparison. KZ doesn't suck. Is it as good as Halo? To many, I'd say probably not, but to many others, they like it better. I can't say either way, because I have a hard time getting into either. K, the Order had a more interesting story, better mythology to it's world, and more interesting characters. QB had better game play overall, but not so much better that I feel one should be dismissed for the other.

I think I prefer QB as a game, but would look forward to a sequel to The Order more than QB because I am skeptical if a sequel to QB would really offer up anything more than more B-Grade generic Sci-fi, which misses what is compelling about sci-fi.

In these story-driven games, characterisation and storytelling are linked. You say Uncharted has better characterisation and decide that QB has a better story. I'd like to know what you mean by that. What about its characters that weave into its story? QB's characters are not memorable, with Jack Joyce being one of the least memorable characters I've encountered in recent years.

And gunplay? Completely disagree. Uncharted 4's gunplay is absolutely more solid, polished and diversified when you consider the range of animations, and its combat is definitely more thrilling when you consider its systemic depth with more mechanics at play and much larger environments for gun battles. The only thing QB's combat has going for it is the time powers and they get old fast when your only combat space is simply TINY.

I think if QB was a masterpiece its strong qualities would outweigh its inherent flaws, but that is just not the case, whereas Uncharted 4 outweight its few flaws well enough to push it into masterpiece territory.

Quantum Break and a masterpiece WHAT THE!? In no way was it a masterpiece. I would argue it wasn't even that good to be honest. The TV episodes were too long and the story was ordinary at best. There is a reason why it has 77 on metacritics and UC4 is at 93. I would argue that scores are subjective but when you take an average of all scores, you end up with bands and anything below 80 shows that the game failed on a number of aspects and anything above 90 means the game truly did something out of the ordinary (hence can be classified as a 'masterpiece')

Better story, nope, just generic b-grade sci-fi, which has uninteresting, cliched characters, that don't have any personal growth through the entire game. The story of the game was predictable to the extreme, and no part of it was actually interesting from the characters to the world itself. The premise is about the only thing which kept the story going.

Lore: The game had lore? Maybe it did, I stopped looking for the collectables, and even when I happened across one, I didn't care to read it because it was not that interesting when I was trying. Very little "lore" was explored in the game itself, or in the cut scenes...oh, sorry, TV episodes.

Writing: It's writing was good enough for whatever crap syfy channel is turning out nowadays. But UC4 had better depth of characters, and a story which was actually meaningful.

Better gunplay: Bwaahahahahahaha. Game's gunplay was secondary to the idea of using powers. On top of that, the powers were the only thing which kept this game from being a crappy action adventure game...but those powers grew tedious and repetitive pretty quickly.

Some of it is subjective, but the characters were cliched, and they had no personal growth, which is an objective analysis. Maybe for people who have a low standard for what constitutes good story telling, or don't care about cliched characters or those characters having personal growth, it's not that important, and in some cases, for some stories it's not that important....known in the movie sector as a popcorn flick.

There was no lore in QB. It had a premise, but lore tends to denote there is rich, or at least some significant backstory which makes up the surrounding world, and helps establish motivations for the characters and their story. QB factually didn't have that, so not subjective.

Writing was on par with Syfy channel, albeit better than some of their more recent stuff. That's just an objective analysis, and subjective, but not by much.

The gunplay can be quantified as why it's better, because it's more precise, more accurate, less redundant, etc. So again, objectively speaking, UC4 is better.

You don't have to care what I say, won't affect me one way or the other, but if you're going to make random comments that one is better, without anything to really back up your assertions, then expect people to tell you your wrong....and in my case, actually give you more substantial reasons to say why UC4 is better.

I can easily say that UC4 is better without giving reasons why, like you did for QB, the hard part, and something you may want to learn if you're actually interested in discussion and not just trolling, is how to qualify your comments with some sort of objective reasoning. If you don't care what anyone says, then why bother posting at all if not to troll. You think we care what your opinions are enough to just have you say something?

I find the order of 1886 more intriguing and engaging. It doesn't force you to watch live action movie for story telling, everything on that game is real-time in game. The game has so much potential for a possible sequel.

Based on most reviews and personal experience. It's not even a question. It's Uncharted by a mile. Heck IGN only gave it a .2 bump in its review of the adding the multiplayer anyways. So multiplayer doesn't have that much of a effect anyways in how people view Uncharted. Multiplayer is simply icing on the cake.

Let me tell you how much multiplayer accounts for. This according to IGN. They are the only ones who broke it down into two categories. Multiplayer accounts for .2 off any review. So even accounting the only multiplayer review minus the campaign? .2 off of all of these reviews still has Uncharted well above Tomb Raider and really far ahead of Quantum Break. At least in terms of average score on Metacritic. Thank IGN for not giving you any wiggle room to catch up on the single player portion. Apparently multiplayer isn't worth much. Besides you know most of us have only played the campaign and formed opinions anyways. That's what most people buy it for. IGN proves our case how important the campaign is over the other portions. I agree to an extent, I enjoyed UC4 more but QB does have phenomenal presentation. In my first playthrough of UC4 I found the climbing a bit to frequent, also for some odd reason Elena annoyed the crap out of me. However I believe I nit picked every flaw in the game cause I'm a huge fan of the series and my expectations for this game were a little ridiculous lol. I'm on my second playthrough and I'm really just enjoying the game for what it is, masterpiece. The environmental story telling is top notch and graphically it leaves me overwhelmed, such a beautiful game and easily the best in the series to me.

Gun fights in UC4 require easy / normal mode or stealth to be sure of surviving. Either way, they do not make you feel heroic and that is why I am sorry to say UC4 has less satisfying gun fights than UC1 and UC2 although I'll be kind and pretend that they're better than 3's after its patches. No, I can't pretend - UC4 just gangs up on you en masse.

There's absolutely nothing about Quantum Break's single player game that succeeds Uncharted 4. Gameplay, graphics, characters, storytelling, game length, replayability. Like..... seriously, OnlySP? One is a genre-defining, benchmark-raising masterpiece & greatest game of the generation so far, and the other is a decent shooter with the kind of storytelling that should serve as a warning to developers going forward.

The problem is that Naughty Dog took their time to finish Uncharted 4. And Remedy Entertainment got abit stressed to release their game in time. Quantum Break could have been alot better.

But i really admire Naughy Dog for their work. They are my favorite developers of all time. Every game they have made is pure perfect. Hard work and dedication from them.

Good Job Naught Dog and other Devs should really take nots from them.

I'm going to play devils advocate, Uncharted is my favourite franchise because of the story and a great sense of an over the top action adventure that captivates me completely while playing it. But Uncharted 4's formula is a bit tired, I am near the end of the Scotland level and a hint of boredom has set in because the shoot outs and sneaking sections are a real chore even on hard mode, especially when you do the same thing every 5 to 10 minutes. You climb and explore, solve a puzzle, sneak around, have some gun fighting, have a cut scene for the brilliant story and repeat. Naughty dog have pulled this basic formula off so well because they connect it all together magnificently with lovable characters and explosives set pieces. But the game hasn't moved on that much since Uncharted 2 which for me was the best instalment that set the benchmark for other games to beat, which I still think is true today.
But gamers love the series and so do I.
I haven't played Quantum break yet, but as a gamer I can't wait to play it, the only reason I haven't already was because I could only afford one game during April and May and my choice was uncharted.
I could go on for ages but I'm bored now.

I mean honestly, can you not break down every game in existence like that? Also, would those other games essentially offer even less in terms of gameplay elements? Look at Halo, a hugely revered franchise that is essentially gunplay, cutscene, gunplay, cutscene, repeat.

Just give the game a bit of time. Scotland is the first proper level introduction to the story at hand, you aren't even halfway into the game yet, and you also haven't gotten behind the wheel of the Jeep.

I feel QB has better gameplay because the powers add more exciting things that you can do, the movement is faster and smoother, the gunplay is more responsive and natural. UC4 is great during moments of stealth, but then REALLY takes a dive during all out combat/cover. The Cover system is borderline broken being as the cover button rarely does what you intend for it to do. (Before you try to attack my skill, I've played games for over 30 years, and I know how to play a cover shooter, I'm not sure this is THE worst cover shooter ever made, but it's close).
