I cant deny this, but the visuals looks Jaw Dropping. I thought i was looking at real sand for a moment. Damn!

I really want to support this game but the $50 Season Pass and no Campaign makes it so hard.

Can't wait for the "OMG...FREE DLC" comments

Content made alongside the main game, only for them to cut it and release it separately does not mean it's FREE DLC.

It's just a good little PR trick to sucker people into thinking EA is doing something really noble and giving gamers "free DLC".

DarkOcelet3097d ago

They are just putting the content as 'dlc' just to grab the attention of people going into the Star Wars movie to buy the game.

PSIN4MANT3097d ago

Meh.. that's why season pass is optional, if you don't want it, you don't have to buy it.

Summons753097d ago

Actually they have admitted that it was forced to be kept out to release alongside the movie....but you know uneducated troll comments are fine too.

-Foxtrot3097d ago

Forced lol

It's a map, not a full on, detailed story driven level.

If this had spoilers in them remove them or do another map.

Hell do some prequel maps so you can release them within the main game

It's just a marketing tatic

"but you know uneducated troll comments are fine too"

Summons you think everything is trolling man, it's like your number 1 comeback

Neixus3097d ago

It is a PR trick, but it's made to hype up the release for the movie, how is that wrong?

SharnOfTheDEAD3097d ago

It's clever, releasing that just a week before the movie.

guitarded773097d ago

It's sad. I expected some cashing in, but this is just pathetic. I was one of the handful of people that followed every rumor and cancellation of SWBF3 on the LucasArts forums. There was always the dream scenario (DICE makes SWBF3), which we thought could never happen. Then Disney got SW, then EA got the SW license, then DICE got SWBF. Dream come true, right? Now this crap... $10 more for a Deluxe Edition with 2 exclusive emotes. $50 for a Season Pass, but no info as to how much DLC will be available post launch. We all know the game is bare bones because they wanted to get it out for the new movie... so they're labeling the Jakku DLC as a bonus to a game light on content.

But I've been waiting for this game for a long time, so I'm still getting it. Doesn't mean I'm happy about the milking. I did however cancel the Deluxe Edition, and ordered the Standard Edition after seeing what was included. If the Season Pass offers enough, I will get it. If not, I will just buy the DLC I want. EA is not the only guilty party with DLC... everyone does it. But if this is successful, it sets a new standard. Just like when people paid $60 for HD ported versions of last gen games when the PS4/XBOX1 came out. It was a rip off, but the people who pay for it allow companies to do this stuff. I'm making an exception for Battlefront, but will go back to not buying anything from companies that keep trying to milk us dry. I'll pay when something is worth the price, but $10 more for a Deluxe Edition with 2 emotes is a megaton ripoff.

OB1Biker3097d ago (Edited 3097d ago )

It's a new planet with two maps according to GAME. I'm hoping for a special mode. Damm I so can't wait to play this.
People who don't care about the game then.. move on. Digital sales are more of a rip off yet I don't see much complaining about it.
@guitarded the standard edition digital is £10 more than the standard edition retail physical. That's where the rip off is like for most games. Nobody is forced to buy a deluxe edition like nobody is forced to buy special editions for many games that are a rip off

sullynathan3097d ago

Witcher 3 did the same shit and got praise

CorndogBurglar3097d ago

They said months ago that it was cut to be released alongside the movie because it deals with a location of the movie. They were told to release it later, which is why its free.

You can believe that this is some terrible practice, and the devs are lying if you want though, I suppose. Even though they said this when they announced the DLC and not later as spin control.

I'm in similar predicament. But then again, I've never really bought a season pass except for The Last of Us.

On topic: The trailer looked absolutely fantastic.

DarkOcelet3097d ago

The problem is not in the Season Pass price only but how much of that content was originally planned for the release but they decided to cut it just to sell it as overpriced dlc?

Genuine-User3097d ago (Edited 3097d ago )

This is news to me. Are you saying that EA cut content so they could charge us extra in the form of a season pass?

(I didn't disagree with you)

PreAtaric3097d ago

It's easy to claim content was cut, but usually pretty tough to back up that claim with facts. The same conspiracy theory has been used many times before.

I'll see how much I'm playing SWBF by the time the DLC starts releasing. If I'm still playing a lot, I'll buy the season pass based on the content Battlefield usually gets from it's season passes. Some season passes are well worth it. Driveclub's, for example.

RegorL3097d ago

@DarkOcelet it takes time to develop maps etc.

These DLCs were never to be included in the game since that would have delayed the game past film release date.

The film release was the reason for EA/DICE to get a shot at developing games - not the other way around.

So at the beginning of the project they know, we got 2-3 years until release starting from more or less scratch.

Discussion would sound like - we can manage 12 film quality maps on the game disk, and one DLC before the movie. In the following year(s) we can release 4 DLC.
[one probably from TFA]

Yes, so five DLCs were planned from the beginning. Does it mean they were cut from the game disk? With a release date before the film - can you even imagine releasing the game before the film...???

Then they should just delay the game... you are free to delay your acquisition of it to next year and you will probably get the 12 maps and all five DLCs for $60 - why are you complaining?

Gotta say that looked amazing. Looks like most of that stuff will be happening in the background though. It looks like it'll be a fun map if I can pry myself from Fallout 4.

Aenea3097d ago

I think Battlefront will lend itself nicely for the "an hour or two of shooting" while the main thing you are playing is still gonna be Fallout 4...

RegorL3097d ago

just another hour... and another...

isa_scout3097d ago

True. Battlefront will be the game I play when all of my friends are online. It'll get a lot of play time in December to as my excitement for The Force Awakens wil lead to me wanting to devour anything Star Wars related. Which no doubt is exactly what EA is counting on.

RondoMachete3097d ago

Loved the Beta and brought it after only one hour of playing also lost that weekend playing virtually none stop. Can not wait.

wakeNbake3097d ago

The graphics are gorgeous but unfortunately the gameplay is as shallow as spit.

Aspyr if we sell hotcakes get that code from radical or something and create battlefield 3 please

Becuzisaid62d ago

I thought that was kind of obvious they were incorporating mods to piece this game together. Maybe not, but that's made me worried about one thing:

They also planned on adding the modded ending to KOTOR 2 but were legally blocked from doing so, even after they advertised that to help sell preorders for the game on Switch. Could the same happen with this? Any opponents have 3 weeks to bring down the hammer.

GoodGuy0962d ago (Edited 62d ago )

Wish these games would just get remakes.
