But not as we know it :(

Still, it might be interesting. I'm not overly excited about it.

"Multi-engine is the official D3D12 term for that feature. We’re using it quite heavily across the scene, including dynamic GI compute shaders, GPU-based culling for instanced foliage, Forward Plus compute shaders (light gathering). In addition, all the foliage physics in the scene (bushes, grass, etc.) is simulated on the GPU that also runs concurrently with the graphics."

I felt like I was listening to this guy when I read it:

It's going to be different, that's for sure. But not necessarily worse!

tuglu_pati3129d ago (Edited 3129d ago )

I have tried the beta and its not my cup of tea. I find the combat its too simple and repetitive which worked on previous games but not so much for Fable Legends.

Bigpappy3129d ago

This is actually very interesting, especially after ready what "The Witcher 3" graphics developer said regarding DX12 helping with the game reaching 1080p on X1. He said DX12 could push more pixels, but it doesn't increase the shaders to color those pixels.

Now this guy is saying that is exactly what they are doing with asynchronous computes.

You should be excited by this new tech.

Eonjay3128d ago

@septic

Lol at the architect pic! Anyway all he is saying is that the GPU is being issued commands usually handled by the CPU.

@BigPappy
Thats not what he is saying. You can't 'increase shaders' on a GPU without physically welding them on the GPU. They are taking the shaders that are there and using them to do computational operations that can be used to improve a scene like culling, physics and lighting. We have been talking about Asynchronous compute for a while.

I just love Albion, it's so bright and fantastic.

Harryseveruspotter3129d ago

I agree , its gonna be diffrent....and i am sure....!!!!

OpieWinston3129d ago

With a vengeance. By reinvigorating the community with a balanced F2P model with Windows 10/X1 Cross Play. Fable Legends has the potential to have the most growth in any Fable game and possibly build itself a new community that is massive.

Thank god for Legends having a 10 year post game plan. New Heroes, New Units, New Items... It'll be a fantasy Destiny just with a different PvP system.

LonDonE3129d ago

Agreed but i would of killed for a single player story driven narrative with this fidelity.

OpieWinston3129d ago

Well the good thing about this is it offers multiple story arcs over the years and allows for a much deeper story. The current pivotal story arc is around the character "Nemesis" played by Lena Headey.

Thankfully the whole game is playable with an AI Villain and just be seen as an optional Co-op game.

Professor_K3129d ago

its a Very birght upbringing for the fable franchise. I am veryy curious to see what potential awaits this game in the future generations, i am very certain Lionhead will really deliver. It seems that freedom of creativity and support behind them by their publisher has realy helped them rise up. I hope MS keeps this up.

user99502793129d ago

I honestly think that Fable LEgends will be huge. They've been working on it for a long time. It's gotta be pretty damn well refined and feature-full at this point. Hopefully they get the F2P model right.

Excited to try it, anyways. Still no beta invite.... *sigh*

Still waiting for my Win 10: I wanna play this game on my pc.

Imp0ssibl33129d ago

You do know that Windows 10 is presently a free upgrade right?

kaiserfranz3129d ago

I think a crap ton of people still don't know that, even though Microsoft basically shouted from the rooftops

Erogemaster23129d ago

Gonna wait things out till compatibility issues get ironed out cause free doesn't always mean good.

TheBrit3129d ago

that 'crap ton' of people might still be staring at that little white windows logo in the task bar wondering what it is and where did it come from.

VER1ON3129d ago

Interestinf, wondering about full potention of dx12

Alexious3129d ago

It's going to help developers reach near-CGI levels of graphics.

odderz3129d ago

DX-12 will be on XB1 as well as PC, right? I wonder if this'll help it against the might of the PS4

Sm00thop3129d ago

I really wished people would stop acting like the PS4 is a £3000 gaming rig, DX12 is the sort of thing consoles need so they can maximise efficiency. Brute power is just not there for either console that's a fact.

You just took the words out of my mouth.

Canceled Video Game Sequels That Never Happened

Anticipation can turn into disappointment so often in the video game world. Canceled video game sequels can feel devastating, especially those that promise to expand upon the thrilling stories of their predecessor. Wealth of Geeks runs down some of the most disappointing cancelations that kept anticipated sequels in the dark.

The orginal prey 2 better be on this list.

And it is. Man if could've got this instead. Wonder why no one's step up to do this kinda game yet. I think there's one in development for pc, it's cyberpunk Era but it takes place in some huge apartment complex I think. Anyway I'm saying this not knocking the prey that came out cause I did enjoy that to but really wanted prey 2 (canceled)

Skuletor72d ago

I wonder if they never happened because they were cancelled 🤔 (stupid headline)

Rockstar72d ago

Was just thinking the same thing...

10 Highly Anticipated Video Games That Never Saw the Light of Day

There have been so many games from major developers that we have been excited to finally play, that somehow, in some way, got axed before they were ever completed.

It's time to take a look back, and pour one out for all of the lost brothers and sisters of gaming that were taken before their time.

Deep Down is never going to see the light of day

porkChop2166d ago

Shame, it looked pretty cool.

IamTylerDurden12166d ago (Edited 2166d ago )

My top 10

Star Wars 1313 - This was my if Star Wars and Mass Effect had a baby, sorta..

Silent Hills - P.T. nuff said.

Deep Down - Visuals were stunning. Capcom, please.

Agent - it has become the R* version of TLG.

Bioshock VITA - It was legitimately planned and in the works, until it wasn't..

Visceral Star Wars - Visceral, Hennig, 3rd person Star Wars action.

Scalebound - Looked awesome early on, other than the Beats By Dre..

Prey 2

Infamous VITA (rumor)

IamTylerDurden12166d ago (Edited 2166d ago )

Infamous VITA was a rumor. It was to be called Infamous: Electric Souls and Nate Fox pretty much promised me. Darn you Nate.

The Santa Monica space RPG was a shame. Too bad SSM has such high standards, i bet it wasn't that bad.

gamerpop2166d ago

Star Wars 1313 and the recently canceled EA game were big upsets.

Raven7222166d ago

Fable Legends? Really? Every other game on that list I can agree with but that. That game never had hype. It had artificial hype from people who wanted it to be more than what it was looking to become. It was hardly ever spoken of outside of list wars and some poor schmuck who was forced to write about the game because it made an appearance at some convention. It wasn't what people wanted. They wanted a proper Fable game. They got a garbage asymmetrical multiplayer game in the vein of Evolve but even less exciting.

The 10th Rider2166d ago

Eh, I think the original concept was decent enough, even if it was nothing spectacular. However it felt like the more and more they showed the worse it looked.
