The author said that he was omitting Assassin's Creed as deserve a separate list. Agree with 47 as No.1 though for sure. Hope next Hitman recaptures the spirit of Hitman 2 and Blood Money. Classics.

No Rikimaru? For shame for shame.

SaveFerris3177d ago

No Harman Smith from Killer 7, Travis Touchdown from No More Heroes, or Mondo Zappa from Killer is Dead?

My fav is Agent 47 but cant have a list without Ezio. He was the bomb!

Skellytorx3177d ago

Agree with the Ezio comment. He was my fave!

Nice article, I was a little sad that it wasn't the top 10 rather than top 5 but appreciate the amount of detail you've put into each of the entries (the amount of videos felt a little bit too much though). Dishonored is the first sneaking assassin game that I've actually enjoyed, loved the gameplay I felt so slick and powerful, even if I didn't kill people.

"I started playing games yesterday" the List... Meh!

How about a few RPGs that deserve some love instead?
1 - Alpha Protocol - Now on GOG
2 - else Heart.Break()
3 - Shadowrun Trilogy
4 - Wasteland 2
5 - UnderRail
6 - Tyranny
7 - Torment: Tides of Numenera

And for a bonus game that flew under the radar:
8 - Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden

Loved Alpha Protocol in all it's glorious jank. Great game.

SimpleSlave31d ago (Edited 31d ago )

Not only glorious jank, but the idea that the story can completely change depending on what you do, or say, or side with, makes it one of the most forward thinking games ever. The amount of story permutation is the equivalent of a Hitman level but in Story Form. And it wasn't just that the story changed, no, it was that you met completely new characters, or missed them, depending on your choices. Made Mass Effect feel static in comparison.

Alpha Protocol was absolutely glorious, indeed. And it was, and still is, more Next Gen than most anything out there these days. In this regard at least.

Pity.

He was one of my least favorite characters. I wish they would have done the Proths different.
