I don't get the burn, I mean what's so damning about that pic?

I wonder if he really will close those accounts xD

uptownsoul3190d ago (Edited 3190d ago )

Love it, love it, LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!

@Bansai

"what's so damning about that pic?" -- The damning thing about the pic is the circumstances in which a young man would knowingly pose for picture (with friends) in their draws & a belt around their belly

Baka-akaB3190d ago (Edited 3190d ago )

I dunno seems weirder to me that a pro would bother searching through piles of crap and some "damning" picture in a profile to "burn" .

I definitevely would think the dev looks more ridiculous and desperate here , if the kid didnt cave in and closed shop .

Even without the pro aspect ... when we are in an internet feud , do we usually just dig for stuff like that ?

ThunderPulse3190d ago

My eyes were scorched by the image.

zeuanimals3190d ago

@uptownsoul:

What about it is damning? People with class and character have been in pictures with even weirder circumstances. I'm not defending the guy and I'm not saying he has class or character because he sounds like an annoying prick, but a picture of a guy being silly with friends doesn't mean anything.

What I do find weird is that the COD dev didn't just brush it off as another internet troll and he actually went out of his way to search for embarrassing images. That's behavior that's nearly as immature as the troll's.

uptownsoul3190d ago (Edited 3190d ago )

@zeuanimals

First of all, the troll had it coming. Don't throw stones if you live in a glass house. In other words, don't talk s*** if you got embarrassing stuff out there. As far as the picture itself is concerned, "a picture of a guy being silly with friends doesn't mean anything" - I guess me and you just came up in different times & different places because I wouldn't take shots at nobody if I had that picture floating out there of me.

Secondly, as to the CoD Developer…I fully support the developer (so long as he didn't hack the troll's account to get the picture). The troll took an unprovoked shot at the the developer & the developer used what was in the public sphere to shoot back…I tip my hat, good sir

Lesson for the trolls: Don't start none, won't be none!!! (but if you do start something, make sure you got all your ends tied up, tight!)

subtenko3189d ago

All it is is a silly picture, not that big of a deal when tons of people do this on Snapchat, vine, lets plays, twitter, and any other social media network....

Yea its worth a giggle or two but its not a 'burn'

UltraNova3189d ago

A little bit more class from the dev would be preferable imh (searching through a dumb kids's photos to find something embarrassing aint what I call class... ).

That said, those angry, annoying as frack teenagers need to get taught a lesson some times. I can already hear that kid screaming through his headset like crazy while playing COD/Halo MP, GOD!

grumpygamr3189d ago (Edited 3189d ago )

Would you expect anything else from an Xbox One fanboy? Microsoft, how did you create a console that is such a douche magnet. I feel for you Microsoft. I really do. I guess you guys are figuring ways to get more money from them. That 150 dollar controller for one.

Dinkleberg1013190d ago

and he went as far to deleting all his social networks

kid must be crying in the shower right now xD

meche3343189d ago

he didnt delete anything. and the picture isnt private its right on his twitter lol

frostypants3189d ago

LOL at this kid's "never gonna marry anyone over 30" tweet. This Pugsley looking rube will be lucky if anyone marries him at all.

spicelicka3189d ago

Author is not very bright either though. The guy wrote "Closing my Youtube, Twitter, and Twitch" as a joke, not because it's the 'aftermath' of messing with a Cod dev.

You can see him replying "LMFAOOOOOOOOOOO" to the tweet. People who think he's actually closed his account over this are pretty damn stupid, the guy has 32K subscribers (although I have no idea who he is), and I'm sure he wouldn't have made the pic public on his account if he gave a shit.

NobleRed3190d ago

Lag Hammer worst COD devs ever.

WeAreLegion3190d ago (Edited 3190d ago )

I say they're tied with Treyarch and new Infinity Ward. They're all a joke compared to old Infinity Ward.

Vegamyster3190d ago (Edited 3190d ago )

My biggest issue was how spammy the exo movements were & the lack of dedicated servers that was promised, also they took the PC version which was a pretty good port and some how ruined it with a patch that screwed performance and added more lag a few months ago.

Out of the 3 Treyarch has been steadily improving, weapon & map wise BO2 was great, IW is just a shell.

DLConspiracy3190d ago (Edited 3190d ago )

@vegamysister

Of all the companies out there that could afford dedicated servers. I would think it would be Activision... Yet they still don't use them. Pretty ridiculous if you ask me. Seems like the only fps game this gen that did was Titanfall. I heard ghosts was supposed to but it was some weird hybrid. Peer2peer is not the way!

donthate3190d ago (Edited 3190d ago )

@DLConspiracy:

I just stick to Titanfall. That game is a blast and been playing since the beta!

I finally got CoD:AW and it just doesn't feel right, compared to other CoD's, but Titanfall is so far ahead that I don't think I want to go backwards.

Think I'm going to skip BLOPS3. CoD ain't what it used to be. CoD4:MW was super awesome and so was CoD:MW2.

objdadon3189d ago

Treyarch will always be the best cod devs!

Vegamyster3189d ago

@DLConspiracy

No doubt, CoD 4 had them so i don't know why they don't now considering how much more money they're making.

Ex CoD/Dead Space Boss: Inclusivity Is Absolutely a Priority, Telling Other Stories Is Important

Ex Call of Duty and Dead Space boss Michael Condrey said that representation and inclusivity are a priority for his new studio at 2K Games. Telling stories of people from other backgrounds and point of views is important.

Curious how this will turn out

KaiPow1767d ago

Inclusivity is absolutely a damn good idea when it comes to making games.

Eonjay1767d ago

It just makes it more interesting to get different prospectives and it increases the amount and variety of narratives you can have.

Coming from the person who got fired from his own studio not long before releasing their game due to it being a broken mess.

I’d take anything he says with a grain of salt.

AK911767d ago

Said much better than I could have.

Rynxie1767d ago (Edited 1767d ago )

Call of duty was/is a broken mess even before this guy. Haven't played cod since blops 1, got 4, and it's still the same crap. Imbalanced weapons, player lag, no consequences for playing poorly. You can litterally just spray nonstop until your ammo runs out, no recoil, no jamming, no overheating. You can jump, cartwheel, summersault and still hit opponents because of the crazy amount of autoaim and aim assist. The fact that cod is an esport game, is laughable.

And before you say, "maybe you just suck."

I have a 1.86 k/d and 18,000 more kills than deaths. The only reason my k/d is not as high as my k/d in other fps games, is due to the constant bullcrap deaths I experience. Like shooting someone seconds before they see me, and they kill me. Hitting someone directly in them 10+ hits, and they kill me with less hits. Or my favorite, shooting someone a million times, and they just run away, pop out, and kill me. A lot of the weapons don't even have to hit you directly, as long as you are within their radius, you'll die, one hit. I also love emptying my entire magazine multiple times on an opponent, just for him to run away each time, and finally kill me, when I'm out of ammo, or caught me while reloading.

Cod = garbage. Finally got tired of the bs today, and deleted it off my ps4 pro.

drpepperdude1767d ago

I regret reading the article, he sounds like the typical virtue signalling fruitcake bringing up mass shootings like they are even comparable to this game and obsessed with pushing his racist ideologies and goals against his own race.

So what happened was a complete lack of leadership?

Juancho511803d ago

Ive seen restaurants fall apart after a good GM or Manager leave, so its no surprise the leadership was lacking after their resignation. Sad, there was a lot of potential there.

Kabaneri1803d ago

Wow that sucks, now all we have is Treyarch and IW which are a shell of their former selves. Call of Duty is truly dying.

DaDrunkenJester1803d ago

It's about time though. CoD went on much longer than I think anyone thought it would haha

BenRC011803d ago

Dying lol. Still the top selling shooter every year.

Kabaneri1803d ago

With its sales and popularity in decline for years now. I didnt say it was dead, I said it was dying.

blvdnights14141802d ago

"With its sales and popularity in decline for years now. I didnt say it was dead, I said it was dying."

With that logic all planes that descend in altitude are "Crashing" People like you have been saying this for over a decade and it's still a billion dollar IP.

Sunny_D1802d ago (Edited 1802d ago )

@blvdnights

Damn didn’t know there was actual people who still defend this terrible franchise.

badz1491802d ago

@Sunny_D

I don't think that counts as "defending", just straight out facts. for example, BO4 reached new heights for Activision last year despite being online only. only GTAV and RDR2 have sold more units a year than any CoD game in the past 10 to 12 years. the franchise is not going to the ground (sales-wise) just because they fired Sledgehammer. IW and Treyatch are still the main devs for the series and I can't see CoD giving up the sales crown anytime soon.

I'm not a fan per say. last CoD I bought was CoD4 in 2007

KwietStorm_BLM1802d ago

@blvdnights1414

You didn't understand the logic yourself, or you just made a bad analogy. A plane in descent certainly is in danger of crashing *if the descent was not initiated by the pilots.* As with Call of Duty, Activision has no control over how many units it actually sells. If a plane is descending because it's preparing for a landing, then it's not "crashing".

remixx1161802d ago (Edited 1802d ago )

@blvd

That analogy was ass

IW hired back most of those who left for Respawn in the last 2 years. So other than Zampella and West, IW is basically back.

ShinRon1802d ago

Infinity Ward made CoD what it is, rest of the devs were just modders

meep3161802d ago (Edited 1802d ago )

They have a long way to go down, they still haven’t been skipping a year ever. There comes a point where many customers will skip a year. There’s also fortnite now, huge game changer for shooters like it or not.

bondsmx1803d ago

He keeps saying early 2020. But cod games always come out in oct/nov. and with the rumored MW4 coming this October, a early 2020 releases makes zero sense. I’m assuming he means October 2020. Which isn’t early 2020.

Seraphim1802d ago

I think he's implying that by releasing in 2020 it's early as their release year would be 2021 because CoD developers release every 3 years with Treyarch, Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer all developing games. That kind of threw me off too though. Definitely should have been worded better if that was his meaning.

Hatsu121803d ago

I don't think the Kotaku report mentioned anything about Activision firing them, just replacing them next year since they couldn't get their shit together in time

dotwithshoes1802d ago

This article also doesn't mention Raven Software at all.
