Is Critically Acclaimed Shovel Knight Getting a PS4/Xbox One Physical Release? Best Buy Thinks So

The critically acclaimed Shovel Knight may be getting a physical re-release on the PS4 and Xbox One after a very successful release on just about every platform under the sun.

Played through this game on regular, then NG+. Despite the frustrations in NG+, it truly is a wonderful and addicting game. The soundtrack is awesome too, I highly recommend it, especially for those who like retro games.

Honestly? Just download it if it's available, IMO it isn't worth having a physical copy for such a small game. On steam it's only 240MB

I have a huge backlog across PS4,Vita and PS3 so I haven't bought any games in a month or two. I prefer disc copies so if they release one, I can easily wait for it. Download size isn't an issue.

Agreed, haven't played either and would be interested in getting it physically. I did so with retrocity rampange dx, like I will the rest that will get physical release

Why on earth would a game like this need a physical release?? I'd wager that the cost for packaging and shipping and what not would be more than what they would get from people actually buying it. Digital is the best form of distribution for indies. They're small games that don't always appeal to the mass market and thus won't make great sales outside of the digital area.

Could of sworn this was posted a few weeks ago. The devs shot down the rumour. They want to bring it to retail but have no plans to do so at the time.

I have been moderately interested but I dont usually buy games digitaly (unless they are discounted and it feels like a good moment).

I have thought about showel knights but I have had other digital games in the storage so I didnt bother. It does look like a fun game.

Digital is better for playstation/xbox/pc anyway. You can't lose the game and if you lose the console, just get a new one and redownload your games. I really don't see physical releases by Console Gen 10 anyway (I do think consoles will still exist though)
