Donna Burke clarifies her statements about Konami - Hideo Kojima situation

A few days ago Donna Burke posted some comments on Facebook regarding the situation going on with Konami and Kojima. In another Facebook post she has clarified these comments.

Konami is essentially dead without Kojima. You'd think they'd do anything to keep him.

Kojima is just one guy. Konamy is composed of tons of talented people. Anyone at Konami might come up with something good and interesting. Kojima has only make Metal Gear games as far as I know in his career, so I don't know why is Konami dead without him.

I would say, the Metal Gear series is dead

The reason I say Konami is dead without Kojima is because other than Metal Gear and P.T. I can't think of a recent Konami game that was well received or sold extremely well.

It is true that another person could come up with something interesting, but I don't think Konami would give them that much power. Konami is also struggling right now. I don't think they'd take a risk with a new person.

You don't know anything about Konami and Kojima I presume from your post.
Kojima is just one guy? Yes, he is. But guy who is number one from every game creators. Kojima is like God in the gaming world.

You say he's "only" made Metal Gear games, but isnt the MGS kinda one of Konami's biggest franchises? Each one has "A Hideo Kojima Game" at the top, how many other Konami employees have that kind of notoriety? How many have made games as incredible as Metal Gear?

Do you even realize that the rumors allude to key staff from Koji pro leaving as well ? Basically his would be successors for MGS and other stuff Kojima was involved with ?

So who are those talented people at Konami ? They are leaving or left each year this decade .

With every franchise dead or mishandled , besides Metal Gear , Pes (and barely revived this year) , DDR (solely in arcades) and Yugioh ... i dont get how you see a silverlining ... at least right now .

You'd make more sense noting that Konami doesnt need console gaming as much as it once did for its revenues .

I think the conflict must have been about Kojima wanting to go more "west" when it comes to game developing and cooperation with other studios, he expressed a while back that Japanese gaming industry has great things but also can learn a lot from western devs...otherwise it was in big trouble if continued be so closed to wenstern influences

I think Konami executives are just too conservative and Kojima got enough, This can be really postive for the industry and for us gamers.

I wonder where he will work next? Independent or for one of the big publishers?

I love MGS but it feel MGSV will be a worthy last MGS by Hideo Kojima

He has to be given a chance to make something of himself, to show his worth.

* You need to give younger dev's a chance to blossom...a chance to develop their own developing skills.

There are a ton of potential Kojima's out there, but they need to be given a chance.

You know that Kojima was considered a failure correct...There are literally zero other successful games Kojima is known for...ZERO(and YES ZOE was a failure commercially) Had he not have gotten lucky with Metal Gear Konami most likely would have let him go back in the 80s..

Konami probably threated to sue her since there is a difference between Kojima not working on MGSV anymore and still but as a contractor.

Regardless, he must have really pissed off Konami for them to remove his name from the game...it could be normal in Japanese law and culture or maybe he really said or did something that deserved his name to be swaped from the game.

Regardless, he is indeed fired and probably still working on the game for love to series, fans and last but not less, his collegues and friends during many years, even big companies like Konami understands that.

What is hard to get....Silent Hills is NOT happening with Kojima, Konami practically said he is gone when MGS V Releases....IF Silent Hills still happens it wont be with Kojima, and IF Konami is smart they wont trust Del Toro alone, highly over rated mediocre director whose only good movies were Pan's Labyrinth and Hellboy 1, even Golden Army was mediocre
