Nigel Farage is so entertaining to watch when he speaks against others at the seats.

Actually, the Brexit had impact on the technology stock market went down 4%, including AMD.
I think it over-exageration reaction of the market, like usual.
Due to Britain exiting the EU, their trade value price will drop and change their currency exchange.
Their attempt at keeping their AAA stock status now changed to uncertainty for an undetermined period of time.
It was close too, 52% for exit vs 48% to stay in the EU.
Barrack Obama said they will go in the back of the line in exchange with Washington.
Still, it's not like these companies, like AMD, are going out of business. AMD stock should increase with the arrival of the new consoles.
Stock market is closed today, we'll see how it will affect on Monday.

There's a serious article on this topic but no one is bothering with it.

UK Video games after Brexit. It hasn't been approved yet.

There was one on Friday morning which got 1000+ degrees heat and over 200 comments

Errorist762878d ago (Edited 2878d ago )

The only world that changes will be the one of the English and Wales...Scotland and (Northern) Ireland becoming independent....Not being able to live and work in the EU anymore....Suddenly they will be Small Britain banished on some rainy island. The whole Brexit campaign was based on lies anyway so it's possible there will be another referendum. Everybody chill.

ninsigma2878d ago

*Northern Ireland

We in the south are already free of them ;)

I'm hoping there will be another referendum because of those lies. I mean, the two big driving points of the leave campaign were dismissed within 24 hours after they got the W. Bad form, and needs a re-do. I also disagree with making such a drastic change when the difference between leave and stay was tiny.

Errorist762878d ago

A reunited Ireland would be one great thing to come out of this mess.

conanlifts2878d ago

I agree that a second referendum should be held. More honesty and information. Leaving the EU at the expense of Scotland leaving Britain isn't worth it. Plus the risk to peace in N Ireland, again not worth it.
In addition the biggest point is 16 out of 17 million want to stay. Surely such a huge decision needs a bigger majority.

Errorist762878d ago (Edited 2878d ago )

@sd11

Especially since a considerable amount of those who voted to leave is gonna die during the next decade. Hell even just one year later the vote could have had a way different result considering a huge amount of 17 year olds not wanting to leave and not being able to vote yet.

Deadpooled2878d ago (Edited 2878d ago )

What politician hasn't "lied" on policies to get into Parliament? How many times did Cameron backtrack on his policies in both terms as PM? Plenty. Believing there should be a second referendum despite a proper majority (51.9%) forming a decision from a proper democratic vote, is wholly anti-democratic (no surprise when the other option was to remain in a union with an undemocratic corrupt organisation)

Also that second referendum petition had just below 400000 of the 2.5 million + signatures by real British residents, and also it has been exposed as a prank by 4Chan (what's worse is the BBC and other remainstream media believed it to be legit, just shows the state of news nowadays).

Ireland's already independent. Scotland's just looking for a new master to be at the mercy of.

Errorist762878d ago

Ireland?! Northern Ireland isn't yet but that probably will change.

HarryMasonHerpderp2878d ago

Sorry but there will be no second referendum, you can't decide to keep having a referendum until you get the result that you want. We live in a democracy thank God and the verdict is we're leaving the corrupt European union. Now we can decide how to run our own country free of Breaurocrats. There's a reason the Netherlands, Italy and France also want to have a referendum. The European union will die.

Errorist762878d ago (Edited 2878d ago )

That's a terrible thing to wish for. Might be you don't leave your country much...it's sad so many listen to nationalist idiots these days. The EU needs to be reformed not broken up. Less neoliberalism and lobbying. At the core the EU still is a wonderful thing and every true European knows that. Only miserable, sad and old people who never leave their homelands want to go back to nationalism.

It's naive to think there would be no bureaucracy in new SB. The days of The Commonwealth and strong Britain on a global scale are long gone. The sooner you backward people accept that the better.

Edit because of comment limit:

@Harry

Why do you say it wasn't working?! I agree there are things that need to be reformed but a lot of things that changed because of globalisation factors during the last decades won't simply disappear when Britain is "independent". Australia and Canada play almost no role on the global scale. America is certainly not the great and especially free and independent country they think they are. If you truly believe that you have never been over, especially considering European interpretations of freedom with it essentially being a police state with no true democracy.
Europe is much stronger if we stick together.

HarryMasonHerpderp2878d ago

Australia, Canada, America are all great countries. They're independent, why can't Britain be too? Ive been to many different countries and I love Europe. Does that mean I have to like the European union? No. Unlike most people, I see the positives of staying in the union and I understand why people voted to remain but I saw the positives in leaving too and so I made that decision. The union is a great idea in theory but it wasn't working so what's wrong with trying something different? There's a lot of accusations coming from the remain camp like oh if you voted to leave you're "racist, old or uneducated" I'm none of those things. I just want the UK to be independent. What's so bad about that?

ninsigma2878d ago

Nothing wrong with wanting to be independent in and of itself. But what are the reasons for it?? UK still won't have control of their borders. They have a deal with France separate to the EU where people can freely move between the two. Taxes are decided based on the economy. Another recession will be on the way which means taxes will go up. The UK have removed themselves from one of the biggest decision making groups in the world where they had a really big say in what happened. Now, they'll feel the ramifications without having a say as well as for the 2 years after Article 50 has been invoked, the UK will still have to abide by EU law but are not allowed a say in anything. The EU will make sure to give them the worst deal they can so as to avoid other countries from following suit. Major companies will leave to EU countries and if London has its way, it will leave the UK (probably not likely but it does have a population bigger than Scotland who are about to get a 2nd vote). It makes things harder for younger people who want to study abroad in European countries. The pound has dropped. And the worst of it all, the out vote was based on lies.

kneon2878d ago

Couldn't they also just call an election with the parties running on a leave or remain platform. If a "Remain" party wins then that would supersede the referendum.

conanlifts2878d ago

The parties won't step down to do that though. Too worried about their jobs. Plus many party members in favour of an exit are in the governing party. I.e Boris Johnson head of brexit and david Cameron head of stay are in the same party.

ninsigma2878d ago

Yes and no. I don't know how our government would afford an extra 6 counties. If the EU were to fund it then happy days! Also, the violence in the north will surely kick up again where the loyalists won't want to leave the UK and the so called "neo IRA" will start their crap again because they want a united Ireland. If it can be done peacefully and we can get funding to support the extra population then bring it on!

conanlifts2878d ago

One thing to take note of is that the referendum is not legally binding. The current leaders will be sacked or resign and any future leaders could always refuse to invoke article 50. Why does it take 3+ months for a pm to resign? So he can hope for carnage and then let a new leader step up and say enough is enough we will reform not leave.
That's a strong possibility.

ninsigma2878d ago

Yeah but unfortunately I think it's going to be a leave advocate to be the next PM. Not sure why it takes that long to resign but Cameron is doing the right thing by not invoking Article 50 yet. It can't fall back on him if it goes horribly wrong lol.

I am hoping they put it to a parliamentary vote and they vote stay.

conanlifts2878d ago (Edited 2878d ago )

Have to disagree about the older people comment. If anything the next 5 + years would be rougher than those that follow. So if this is the case the older generation will suffer as much.
In addition i have heard young people talking and giving their opinions. They said their concerns were travelling/ holidays and gap year work breaks. Im in favour of staying in but the older generation had better and more tangible concerns. I.e immigration, overcrowding, strain on Healthcare etc. The difference is i think the EU should be reformed. It's current state is no good.

Immorals2878d ago

The remain campaign were spreading lies, the leave campaign were spreading lies. It's a mess.

Now the political parties are tearing themselves apart, and that vile, racist woman from the SNP is gaining power.

Once this all settled down the UK will be much better off!

SNP in a nutshell...

A Union of 50 million is oppressive, but a Union of 500 million is desirable.

I think the vote has really been along the Nationalist and Socialist lines to honest.

Its obvious the Nationalist wanted U.K for U.K only which does sound xenophobic and selfish but I guess its human nature or rather the part that we don't want to admit is there.

Socialist on the other hand see the benefit of working together for the benefit of the collective even though some might be worse off than others. Its classic individualism vs common good.

U.K Nationalist see and feel that they are getting the worst part of the deal so they opted out.

All of this hoopla about not wanting Brussels control over them is really just a facade because in the end Brussels does not pick the UK Parliament nor their PM or cabinet.

Did Tony Blair asked Brussels for permission to join the US in the Iraq war?.

The point is the U.K has always been free to make their own decisions. The fact that they opted out of the E.U is proof of that lol!.

E.U is not a country but rather it is a collective and its purpose is to provide a bigger political clout collectively, facilitate commerce,collaboration/cost savings for members and promote European unity. However each individual are still free to push their own interest on their own.

After the 2008 crash and the turmoil in the middle east the EU is facing some serious challenges and it is obvious that the U.K really just want to cut lose from any obligations for those even though they like with the US are the main course of the current problems in the middle east that Europe is dealing with with refugees which I find ironic.

I rather if the leave people would be just honest and say it. We don't want to deal with the refugees problem we helped create and we don't want to pay bailing out poorer E.U nations. That in the end is what this Britext is really about.

Microsoft's Absurd Antics Have Me Scared For Dishonored And Arkane Lyon's Future

With Arkane Austin no more and Lyon living for who knows how long, the superb Dishonored is in serious danger; Microsoft cannot be trusted.

Relientk776h ago

I love the Dishonored series so much and really want Dishonored 3. Microsoft better not screw this up.

JEECE3h ago

I mean, I think the fans will probably kill Arkane Lyon by cooking up reasons to hate whatever they do next without playing it. I've never seen a game so artificially disliked as Deathloop.

thesoftware7303h ago

Lol, why don't we just say, we are worried about all studios owned by MS now. They will keep closing studios until they have none left ...🙄

Skuletor11m ago

Just merge them all into a single studio, have it churn out a single Call of Duty every year and call it a day, lol.

Barlos3m ago

Don't be scared, you'll be fine.

A renowned industry insider has suggested the rumored PlayStation May 2024 showcase featuring Silent Hill 2 could happen this week.

Bogus!
Why would Sony do that and how would this benefit them?
1) It would piss off their media partners (IGN, Gamespot, Edge, etc.) since they would have to allocate resources fast to cover the event.
2) Risk of not having great coverage or proper coverage from the various source
3) It could give the impression that they are not confident in their own stuff.
4) They would miss the chance to hype the event losing viewers and losing free marketing time.

Again I'm calling it bogus unless it's a small showcase before the big one or because they want to announce that Hellbalde 2 is also coming on PS5.

SlothLordPootus4h ago

As far as I can remember, they typically give a week heads up for these sorts of things.

Lightning774h ago

I was about to say Sony always gives a week in advance for their show.

VersusDMC3h ago(Edited 3h ago)

Last year it was a weeks notice.

https://blog.playstation.co...

May 17th announcement for may 24th show.

VersusDMC3h ago

Nintendo always tweets that a direct is happening tomorrow but no one cares.

Sony gives a week or days of notice and we get anti sony type fake outrage like this.

But good luck trying trying to get some Sony hate going...

Petebloodyonion3h ago

You just mention it!
Sony gives a week in advance NOT just a couple of days.
So I fail to see what Sony's hate movement I'm trying to start when it's a basic business strategy to not piss off your partners (ask Sega).
And I doubt it's hate to ask how it would benefit Sony in doing so.

thesoftware7303h ago(Edited 3h ago)

@Versus
Huh? What?

Bro you really should relax, if what you read was some kinda negative against Sony.... seriously, is that what you got from the comments?

Bro, he was debunking the rumor, and gave perfectly good reasons why it would be unlikely, and your Nintendo Direct comparison is different, as this is supposed to be a BIG Sony showcase, not a surprise 20 min direct, and Sony 's pattern has been one week.

Slow down warmonger.

VersusDMC2h ago(Edited 2h ago)

@thesoftware730

"1) It would piss off their media partners (IGN, Gamespot, Edge, etc.) since they would have to allocate resources fast to cover the event."

That is implying Sony is preventing them from doing their job properly therefore negatively affecting their business...but i guess that's a reach in your mind?

And it's not like they need that many resources to cover the stream. They just need 3 people to react to the stream live and make some easy articles made up mostly of summaries of Sony provided press releases. They would have enough time to "prepare" if it was announced with one days notice.

Petebloodyonion53m ago

@Versus
" That is implying Sony is preventing them from doing their job properly therefore negatively affecting their business...but i guess that's a reach in your mind"

No, it simply implies that some media all over the world might (keyword MIGHT) not properly cover the event like having proper articles for each game announced, or having a proper preshow. maybe some popular YouTubers won't have time to prepare or simply your local newspaper doing an article on tech and game.

So why would Sony take a chance?
What benefit would that give them?

+ Show (1) more replyLast reply 53m ago
Petebloodyonion3h ago

Before I get tons of replies for Sony given a week in advance, my initial comments are related to the notion that the Show could happen this week as the title mentions.
Now to be fair the complete article mentions that Jeff said the Show could happen later in May giving time for Sony to give the normal 7-day notice.

Again not trying to start a negative thing here just thinking that it's bogus that Sony will have a show this week

notachance2h ago

Yeah as much as I’d like to hear what sony’s 1st parties have cooked, it’s not their style to shadow drop a showcase.

Still waiting for ghost of tsushima 2, I’m ready whenever man..
