Media Create published the latest Japanese hardware sales from Japan.

Is that so? I can't remember a time when Vita totally outsold 3DS. Pretty awesome either way to see the two competing more rigorously. :)

No, he's right. You are confusing 3DSXL sales with 3DS sales overall. This is the first time the Vita/VitaTV have outsold the 3DS/3DSXL sales in Japan.

Edit: Never saw the date. But that's Gamestu, not Media Create. If we're going to pick and choose which numbers to use then we could prove anything right/wrong. I'm using Media Create because those are the numbers the industry follow ... and me, and they also happen to be the numbers we're using here.

Last week wasn't *too* bad. Especially considering PS4 still doesn't have a lot of Japanese-centric content and Vita's barrage of game announcements hadn't happened just yet.
