There are several reasons why Destiny 2 could and should run at 60FPS on Scorpio and PlayStation 4 Pro, despite Bungie's excuse. Here's a list of them.
Whether it's entering a zen state during DPS or the rush of dopamine on its completion, Destiny 2's Raids excels in multiplayer teamwork.
Players had high expectations for Destiny’s latest content drop, Destiny 2: Into the Light. Not only did it have to live up to other content added due to a delay, it needed to give players faith the conclusion of the Light and Dark Saga will be worthwhile. - IS
Warlocks in Destiny 2 are great for loads of things. Healing? We got that. Awesome PvE action? Sure! Warlock Mobility? Severely lacking.
An opinion piece about Warlock Mobility in Destiny 2 written by Jordan from The Nerd Stash.
Devs aren't making the most of what the PS4 Pro can do, I wish they'd push for 60FPS more often.
dont think Bungie will benefit the PC platform over what scorpio and PS4 PRO can do honestly, but i can understand why Sony and MS dont want to go beyond 30fps, that will segregate PS4 and Xbox One owners that cant do the jump to Scorpio or a PRO.
Once again I'm in awe of the marketing for a Bungie game. I've never liked the Halo series or the first Destiny but I keep buying them and so help me God this looks sooo tempting.
Destiny 2 Will Be The Only Shooter Running at 30FPS in 2017
Rainbow Six: Siege – 60FPS
Star Wars Battlefront (and probably the sequel, too) – 60FPS
Halo 5: Guardians – 60FPS
Battlefield 1 – 60FPS
Gears of War 4 – 60FPS
DOOM – 60FPS
Overwatch – 60FPS
Titanfall 2 – 60FPS
"It should be noted that these games managed to get 60FPS on the original PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles, which have weaker CPUs than the PS4 Pro and Scorpio."
Exactly.
Lets not forget what bungie said back in 2014
Bungie Explains Why Destiny Is Not 60fps On The PS4 And Xbox One
http://www.neogaf.com/forum...
“It’s a lot of different things,” explains Jason Sussman who is the senior environment artist at Bungie. “I could get really technical, but I’d bore you to death. A lot has to do with performance. We’re cross-platform, so we had to be very delicate with all four consoles, making sure they have the same experience, that it looks as good as it possibly can on all these consoles. A lot goes into that, from geometry to textures to post effects to particles to how many players you get on the screen. We’re always balancing that out to make sure everyone gets the same experience,”
Xbox Scorpio definitely should run 60 fps no questions asked. Not even something that should be argued.
But if Scorpio is not 60 fps bungie will be made a fool on a grand scale when there are tons of shooters running 4K 60 fps on scorpio.
They will throw out there "well you see we are making the game on 4 different systems" like they did last time as damage control for parity reasons.
I'd be satisfied with just seeing the 60FPS increase in competitive multiplayer. It's smaller arenas with a limited number of players and can be tuned for those limitations. Uncharted 4 did a similar thing.
