BioWare wants Players to Keep Playing Dragon Age: Inquisition After Endgame Content, Plus More

In an interview with AusGamers, BioWare's Cameron Lee -- Aussie expat and friend of the site -- told us that the game is being designed to have players continue to play even after the endgame story content, even going so far as to say some content will only be conquerable after you finish the story.

"When you finish the game, you’re still in the world," Lee explains to us. "So you’re still going to do all of these different things. There’s parts of the game that we’ve built that are so difficult that we would only really want players to go there after they finish the story, because it’s just that high level. So it all sort of changes as you go through the story, and we want people to, as you said, have a lot of longevity in the game."

Fantastic! I can't wait to dig in to this. I like everything I've seen so far. Here's hoping the end product is as good as it looks.

This is how you keep people playing your game. Instead of releasing add-ons a week after it comes out, just give us some endgame.

As a big Origins fan, they have said all the right things this time around, having directly spoken about all the things I disliked about DA2, without actually saying "this sucked in DA2 so we are doing it radically different in Inquisititon."

For all intents and purposes, this actually seems to be a real sequel to Origins with some damn heart in it.

My thoughts exactly. :)

Kinda like Dragons Dogma. For a single player game, though it had pawn system, it had great end game content. Its only problem was that there was no hard mode initially, and if u leveled capped, u became too powerful for all content.

iDadio3578d ago

I was originally going to use this to pass the time till Witcher 3 but the more I see and read about this game the more its standing to its own merit - very much looking forward to this now.

Dont care and even wait for this game...day one for me is Shadow of Mordor!!;)

Gr1mmyshadows3578d ago

shadows or mordor does look like a good game but i dont think it can compete with Dragon Age

sjaakiejj3578d ago

Then why are you reading and commenting on an article about it? Color me confused.

Maxor3578d ago

Translation=keep buying our DLCs

Ogygian3578d ago

No problem with that as long as the base game is full of content and the DLC packs are large (costume or weapon packs are irritating as these could easily be bolted on to larger DLC).

Dragon Age: Inquisition Retro Review – A Nostalgic Leap Short Of Legendary

Dragon Age: Inquisition, developed by BioWare, is the third installment in the cherished Dragon Age series. It represents a major evolution from its predecessor, Dragon Age II, incorporating elements that were well-loved in the original Dragon Age: Origins but also introducing new features that stand on their own. While Inquisition improves upon Dragon Age II in many respects, it falls short of the exceptional standards set by Origins.

The quality of these free games has been awesome. Before anyone says they are not free I was already giving Amazon $6 a month for prime shipping and video this isn't why I pay for my subscription

Teflon02909d ago

Still technically paying for it, even if it wasn't your intent. They've been giving out games with Twitch prime, they just changed the name. It's the same sub as that was. If you weren't aware, great. But you're paying for it.

That being said, I don't personally care. For me as long as you're willing to pay that for 1 service and get more. I personally take it as free. Like prime video, music though the prime version is trash, and all the Twitch benefits are all free to me because I didn't care about those when I got it. Just comes with it.

Only noted because that's technically wrong as a defense to that argument, whether I'm on yourside with the initial statement lol

mkis007909d ago

It's free to anyone who has already been paying. IDK why people need to split hairs.

TinkerNation909d ago

How does Prime Gaming work? Do you keep the games, or is it only as long as you have Prime?

Germaximus909d ago

lol Nice distraction from how they're now charging people to increase viewership. It's "just an option." /wink lol
