The hibiscus is a perennial, sun loving position. Actually it is considered an herbaceous perennial, which means; it will die back completely to the floor during the winter months but is strong when the soil warms in the spring. The shrub thrives on well draining, fertile sandy loams and may do well in most average earth. For full flower production the actual hibiscus expanding in full sunlight. Even slight shade will cause shoots in order to ripen well and impair flowering. When the hibiscus is growing in the spot consume a proper feeding schedule.
