+build them to be melee, ranged, stealth, tech... Focused or some combo
+role play you character and make many impactful decisions along the way
+chose what factions to align with, contracts to take, and dialog options to choose

I'm 10hrs in and the only "bug" I've had is a floating grilled meat thing cooking in mid air after I blew up some scum in an underpass. Not really a bug, just a physics glitch that pretty much every game has sometimes.

Correction, they're a multi-trillion dollar multinational that's had far more hits than misses, hence their valuation and profits.

It's not what most people think. He's referring to the workspace if the future where you'll have some people in person and other people virtually coming in to join in a much more interactive way than Teams does currently. Avatars, shared virtual space, and how people connect in the future. His point is that kinda sounds like what we do in video games right? They want to use their gaming experience to help build this metaverse.

@AsunaYuukiTheFlash and @EvertonFC

Thats not how purchase prices of public companies are valuated and Sony's Company "value" is 150b...thats doesn't mean they have 150b worth of purchasing power.

I don't think Sony has the money to buy a take 2 or EA.

@Gamble20

My guess is maybe they get access to the game engine and some expertise to help other studios hopefully develope some FPS games since MS owns almost all of the major FPS franchises.

@LOGICWINS

They didn't respond quickly. Billion Dollar acquisitions don't happen in weeks or months. They were talking to Bungie around the same time MS was talking to Activision. Possible MS was involved in Bungie and knew, probably not. Same with Activision, possibly Sony knew, likely not.

Next announcement... WB Games acquired by Microsoft (not because of that move, but I do think they'll do this)

AT&T pivoted, largely due to an advocate investor, and is out of the content creation game and focusing on core delivery services. Videos games will be part of that. They will sell those studios at some point.

@MrNinosan

Except for little known things like windows, office, and Azure. Microsoft changed their financial reporting to stop reporting hardware numbers because they're irrelevant. Even Sony has said in the last 12 months that hardware numbers aren't a great indicator of success. MS could outsell PS 30 to 1 and they wouldn't report hardware. They point to revenue and subscriber growth because that's what investors care about.

Can't wait! It's in GamePass for PC, so I'm hoping it's launching into GamePass on Xbox too

@darthv72

They still aren't going to report hardware #s, which is what I assume you're talking about. They didn't stop reporting hardware because it was doing poorly, they stopped when MS stopped reporting all hardware numbers and began to report on what matters. Subs, daily active users, growth of those, and Revenue

My guess is still WB when it becomes available again. That locks up DC University and Harry Potter for them. Konami has so many IPs it makes sense too.

845d ago 4 agree8 disagreeView comment

and they will. War zone is a COD game. The next couple CODs will likely be on PS because of existing contracts, but after rhat? No way.

Lol, on what grounds would their be a class action lawsuit? LOL

@MrBeatdown

Profiability isn't important when building a subscription service. MAU and Revenue are the driving factors.

Yes, people that pay $70 for a game can also buy add-ons and DLC. We know GamePass users play more games, more types of games, and spend more on DLC than non-gamepass users from MS own data reports. DLC and add-ons are lower risk with higher profit margins than the main game.

Ok @MrNinosan, yes, typo. Good catch!

Yes, people can get it cheap for bit, not forever. The $3 billion per year was meant as a projection and viability of a subscription model, jot what they made last month.

@Exvalos "10 subs paying 10 a month does not equal you making 100 a month".... It does. That's how math works. I didn't say their net revenue or profit was $250 million per month.

There is a reason almost everyth...

@--Onilink--

They paid a to more because their IPs and tech are worth ten times as much. Putting COD on PS after this deal is done would be idiotic. The value is in driving more people to the Xbox ecosystems and mainly GamePass. It won't do that at all if people can still by those game on Playstation.

@Purple101

Micdosoft won't even own them until the middle of 2023. So yes, the 2022 COD and likely the 2023 will still be on PS. After that, highly unlikely. Warzone obviously will be.
