Racism is racism agreed.

But when you show a stereotype with a black person it is associated with the rest of black people more so.The reason is because unlike white people black people (or other minorities) are not given the media representation to be seen nearly as multifaceted people as whites.

In particularly because of the fact that America is by far the central place for media representations to the world.

In other words, stereotypes ag...

Who here has actually finished San Andreas? I don't know why everyone talks about GTAIV at all. If you finished both IV and SA than you would know the author should be talking about how RDR and GTA:SA were .... on par. :P

I only think that people would agree with me if they had actually finished San Andreas which I'm sure to many people did.

Your blog is ... somewhat poorly edited to say the least.

Nonetheless, I've played and finished both games. I enjoy both games. 4 was superior because it was meatier, was scarier (I'm not saying really scary), it was paced better, brought in a new dimension of playing, which 5 didn't build on, rather it simply tweaked.

I still like 5 but it'a forgettable. 4 is still in my heart to this day.

I wouldn't say characters like Snake and Max are too overtly masculine in their shape. We have to remember in many circumstances you have to bee in good shape to be fighting like the badasses they are. It is characters like Marcus or Kratos who are just ridiculous and cartoonish. Indeed the trend isn't going any smaller either. Good piece

Classic game. Can't seem to run it on my Windows 7 Asus though. It should make it's way to PSN and XBLA just to pass the time when your on the dashboard/media bar.

MGS3 in HD ... nuff said.

Will the chances of Hollywood screwing up a Metal Gear film be substantial? Yes. Guess what though? That was the same with the Batman franchise (and countless others) before Batman Begins came out.

The formula to a great transition into film will take a few things. A more realistic basis, Vampires and an Electric man? No. I don't mean it has to be completely vanilla, you can have nano-machines, even Psycho Mantis (hallucinogenics?) but it has to be more grounded just like...

Considering Call of Duty is almost a de facto Xbox title, add to the fact it was launching on the same day as that game. What kind of idiot thought it would be smart to do that?

Bioshock is an amazing game that worked well with the way it told its story. Del Toro has his view too, they are opinions but I can't help but feel the only series that gets it right is MGS (excluding 4 which was way over cooked)

3 especially was the pinnacle for me, along with the dense story it makes sense for the game to have extended cut-scenes, interactivity (ie heavy rain) would have broken the beautiful flow of a predetermined path, a perfectly constructed one. W...

That is amazing.

Why?

Are you seriously going to punish the 10 year old kid who barely gets any pocket money and must rent his games? If so then you just lost a potential future customer. This kid will grow up without videogames being in his life nearly as much as it could have been and when he grows up he won't care for games, therfore the industry just lost potential sales.

They have already compromised the finished product. They cut 10% of it out already, and they could have done more if they wanted to.

That's not the point the entire point. Ask yourself this, what if they decided to cut out the entire 3rd Act instead of the Catwoman content. The issue is about setting a precedent and the potential for future damage.

Agreed, agreed, agreed. Think of the next GTA, let's say it is San Andreas 2, imagine if Rockstar decided to do the same thing and did not let you access San Fiero unless you bought it new.

There is technically nothing stopping them from locking out an entire city unless you buy it new. Nothing whatsoever. What are people gonna do then?

It is also incredibly dangerous thing to do like the author said. Not only is it bad for consumers but the industry itse...

Act 4 of Uncharted 2 should have been stripped altogether as the gameplay mechanics and story were being stretched a little thin.

I don't really mind how long 3 is, as long as it is paced perfectly well and that this 9 hour experience is the best it could possibly be. I don't want Naughty Dog to make a 20 hour experience just for the sake of it, it will be detrimental to to the game if it doesn't require it.

What else is there to say about this game? It's incredible in every single way. If anything it surpasses games the campaigns of games like Gears and Dead Space because of the excellent pacing, superb boss fight and story.

I'm not hugely worried but I do have some concern. It's almost the sixth year since the PS3 launched and almost seven since Shadow of the Colossus. Both ICO and Shadow came out with a FOUR year time span and The Last Guardian still hasn't come out yet, after seven and possibly a eight year in development.
