I think it shows PS3/360 console gamers are ready for the next new thing. Not that what we have now is not still good, but everybody is ready for new features and more horsepower to play with. Personally, I see both systems doing better than expected. Consoles are alive and kicking!!!
Xbox One has got some nice features and they are doing different things so at least the PS4 and Xbox One won't be exactly the same. Win/Win for gamers!
Personally, this site has a lot going for it. Sure, fanboyism is rampant, but the shear volume of articles and new sites that you discover makes up for any biases you see. And besides, the articles and opinions posted can be legit. Example: MS policies concerning DRM and always online was immediately dislike here. And even...
I bet MS and Sony have had talks and came to some kind of agreement to compensate ie.. using a MS windows license maybe?
Or, you could look at it this way?! Mighty big of MS to help Sony financially. MS isn't that bad boogieman, you all thought.
Actually they did it as a smart business move in their battle with HD-DVD. MS proved you didn't need the Blu-ray to play games, heck they even had a system without a hard drive. Games on the PS3 get installed to the hard drive.
All the criticism against the Xbox One is actually helping MS take another look at playing games offline.
Hey, not fair! Where is the government bailout for the game industry? Cliffy B. We understand the huge budgets for AAA games. But who's responsible for blowing past their budget and making the bad games nobody wants??
The publishers need to band together and educate the public on where the gaming industry is inevitably headed. As of right now, it's fragmented on how to handle the sale of physical games.
Because MS is banking on cloud to make up the difference and then some. Lets just wait and see the real games from both consoles first before rushing to judgement.
Ok, very clever of Sony to under cut MS by $100. This definitely means a price cut for the Wii U. And the similarity someone has already mention about Saturn and PS1 is eerie. But, I seriously doubt the same thing will happen with the Xbox One. Sure it has some negatives, but anybody that saw MS video on the Xbox One had no choice but to be impressed with it.
It's a shame MS didn't ask for my advice. I would have told them that Sony know the gaming business all to we...
Agree 7.5 to 8.00 rating too. I was WOW with what the XboxOne is capable of, some very cool features. No doubt, XboxOne is going to sell a lot of systems even with the $499 price tag.
With Sony coming in around $399(two price point systems maybe?) and coming out this fall ready to battle, makes this generation of gaming very exciting indeed.
Got to admit Sony's looking good right now. There's going to be stiff competition this next gen, good for gamers.. Verdict is still out on the Wii U for me. Should be able to decide to commit to buy this holiday season. Also waiting until E3 for more info on both consoles before making a decision.
Comparing the two I see Sony has done it again with the more powerful console, but it's close!
And I have to admit, I was taken a back with the way it looks. Expecting something different, and the name caught me by surprise too.
Now we just have to wait for the prices and different configurations between the two systems.
Right on!! It's not the dev's responsibility to make a console prosper. That's Nintendo's job. It's a dev's choice(free market) if they want to develop games for one console or all 3, as we all know! You can be disappointed, as I was when EA refused to make games for the Dreamcast but it's all up to that dev's CEO and shareholders.
A good question to ask is why 3rd party's in general don't want anything to do with the Wii U? I wonder i...
Sounds like a paid Nintendo article if you ask me.. suggest you go and buy a console at the end?
It does have a gimmick look to it, but as of right now this looks way to cool and I want it.
This is laughable. It's like damn if you do, damn if you don't. Anyone who plays games know who produces the Xbox brand by now.
Like someone else pointed out- Apple does it and it's acceptable, no complains.
If Microsoft is not plaster everywhere there might be a good marketing reason why. Microsoft is Windows. I can remember when they were on the receiving end of a lot of hate and probably still are because of windows. Are they to blame for some...
The NextXbox is going to be $499 and worth every penny. Can't wait for November to come and next gen kicks off. It's going to be awesome! Just think, something like this only happens every 8 years or so.
Can't argue with the facts. Microsoft needs to do better in Japan and certain parts of Europe where Sony has strong support or Sony will have the No. 1 spot. Not that No.2 won't be that far behind in sales and any console company certainly be happy as long as ...
360 sales are pitiful and thats speaking the truth. Hopefully with the NextXbox sales will improve. There never going to be a leader in sales there, Japan's very loyal to their companies compare to completing foreign companies. But Ms needs to be respectable in sales over there, that's a region they need to work on.
Hmmm, everyone forget about the delays Nintendo is known for? I wonder how many of the games will actually make a appearance in 2013??
The Wii U do need these games to come out this holiday season, but Nintendo first party games all releasing on time is highly unlikely given Nintendo's track record.
Fallout 4 would'nt do the series justice if it try to become more family friendly. The story is about a post-apocalyptic scenario which can be brutal and unforgiving. Can't make that family friendly. Sure you could incorperate more family elements, but anymore and you take away from the whole atmosphere of the game.
Kudos to MS for the turnaround considering the slow economy. Xboxlive might have some negatives but the positves out way them. You just can't dismiss 46 million users as just being uninformed gamers.
Lackluster sales..you could see this coming a mile away!! With no proper 3rd party support( tho Nintendo promise they would be!). System comes with one gamepad, buying another one cost around $150? System is underpowered by today's standards, hence everything fits in a small slim box with no heat problem.
