Just watch the videos in the link I provided. VR is completely different because it uses both eyes. The human eye has it's limits. When you compare it to some other animals, it's kinda just average.
There are a bunch of videos on youtube where TV makers and game designers test high FPS on people. When the frame rate gets too high they have to add motion blur effects to keep it from affecting people. They even do a test. Hold out your hand in front of your face, Wave it back and forth starting slow until your hand looks like it's jumping around.

Lot of gamers want the framerate to go as high as it can, but you can't. The higher the framerate, people start getting serious issues like headaches, motion sickness, nausea, and even some vomiting. 30fps will eventually fade out and 60/120 will probably be standard.
