Hey Snookies sounds like you and I have a lot of the same tastes personally! Yeah that's part of Marc's opinion in this piece. But my personal opinion is that you can also have both genres in one game and I think it is possible to do it right. I just don't think anyone has nailed the formula. At least for me.

I think that Marc did an excellent job with the list and the mock ups. For me personally I would run out immediately for a Fatal Frame Series with Move and 3D ;)

I think it definitely plays on nostalgia to hook most players. But is an addicting grind once you get into it.
Very sad. The lack of survival horror this generation really makes me very very sad indeed.
I would splice and dismember for a Bioshock and Deadspace flick. They are so cinematic already that they would make great adaptations.

Absolutely. The main story alone is hour upon hours to get through not even counting the grinding.
