It’s likely they’re bots for MS, since company is pushing the same goals as EA. It’s a really sad day when fans of a particular console are so devoted that they actually wish for microtransactions and loot boxes.

Because Sony learned a strong lesson last gen that MS is too arrogant and money hungry to learn now: the third party industry rules the multiplayer community. None of the 3 major companies can compete on the multiplayer front. That’s why even Halo is dead. Sony is smart; they let their developers make the games they want, while striking marketing deals with third parties, and release their own games earlier on in the year so as to not step on toes. Even if these multiplayer titles aren’t excl...

Horizon
Zelda
Persona 5
NiOH
Nier
Mario Odyssey
Wolfenstein 2
ACO
Shadow of War
Evil Within 2
South Park
Etc..

All quality single player games that released just this year.

This month alone has literally seen several major titles that were all single player, and were highly acclaimed. I honestly can’t think of a strong multiplayer focused game that released this year and received good acclaim besides maybe Destiny 2. Granted, Star Wars and CoD are right around the corner, but amazing single player experiences still far outnumber the multiplayer ones.

The only place where single player is dying is on Xbone, but they have no good games to begin...

Ok? You’re still not going to see any significant differences between games on the X and the Pro. X will offer better resolution and the occasional better texture, but it’s no different than what the PS4 was doing over Xbone at the beginning of this gen. That’s why I ask every Xbox cheerleader the same question: if these things truly matter to you, why did you pick Xbone over PS4 for the last 4 years? The only true answer: brand name infatuation. That’s why I don’t care about the 20 - 40% adv...

The only company that has forced parity this gen has been MS. They were the only ones to do it last gen too.

Bungie confirmed a while back that they would be supporting X with D2. It’s gonna be the same enhancements as PS4 Pro, but not because of the marketing like the butthurt Xbox cheerleaders are going to claim. Bungie’s engine is not DX12 friendly, and even the X can’t handle the insane physics and particle effects in native 4K on just raw power alone. They’re also likely making use of the Vega tech in the Pro.

If they simply do what they did with MK8, and port it over as a Deluxe version, that’d be cool as long as they add something significant besides new characters/ stages. An adventure mode in the same vein as Subspace Emisary would be awesome

Looking to be a very pretty game, no matter what system you buy it on.

HZD was more technically impressive with its environments, animations, and lighting, but I wouldn’t be surprised if ACO has the larger map and more content in terms of quest, etc.

That’s not a knock on Horizon; it’s my favorite game so far this year, but I understand that that’s Guerilla’s first at an open world RPG, while AC has had over 10 years to work on their formula.

What a smart way to push controller sales.

@LastCenturyRob I’m sure it is. I’m not arguing against X; I’m arguing against the insane level of hypocrisy and deflection it’s brought out of some people. This is just my opinion, but sharper textures and higher res is still only a slight advantage; if you play Shadow of War on X vs Pro, yes you’re going to see better textures and better frame rates, but you’re not going to be seeing a difference like say Uncharted 3 vs Uncharted 4. The versions still look relatively the same, and is not go...

I misread that. Not necessarily a new IP, but big game game announcements nonetheless.

@Ausbo It doesn’t matter; you spend the last 4 years talking about how 720p is just as good as 1080p, only to suddenly change face when you get the opportunity to spend $500 more on slightly better hardware, you’ve already exposed yourself for not being a gamer, but rather someone who’s simply infatuated with a brand name.

And on the note of “everyone only wants to play with the best hardware!”, please explain Switch, and why you all don’t simply move to PC? Fave it, consol...

But what’s the point? A developer can tell “high end this and 4K that!”, but what does it matter if a) the console can only play games that have to cater to lower end hardware, and b) the few exclusives in its lineup are lackluster as all hell. This is a $500 console, and all MS is doing is alienating the 30+ million people that were suckered into buying a Xbone, by using such aggressive marketing for it.

Good news. With both Sony and Nintendo having solid lineups in the long, the PS4/ Switch combo is going to become ever more great.

They mentioned a huge new IP reveal. Hopefully it’s Sucker Punch’s game, but this doesn’t seem like the place for it (most likely PSX). I wonder what it could be?

2422d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

I wonder why they don’t do aligned launches with these two like they do everything else? Either way, PS4 is doing amazing by comparison, considering it launched over 2 1/2 years later. It should pass 3DS by year’s end, no problem.

Still, there really aren’t many of those games; in fact most games that involve Russians have you play as them. Battlefield 4 and MW2/ 3 barely count because they both took place in the modern age and neither of those countries have been really communist since the 80’s/ early 90’s. I’m thinking something along the lines of Homefront, but more brutal and doesn’t completely suck.

Probably more cynical than anything, but I can’t bring myself to care. I just really hope that someday we get a game similar to Wolfenstein, but we kill Communists by the thousands. It would be glorious.
