Here is why Sony fanboys are nervous about this. Because no one in the game industry have the platform to make this happen but Microsoft.

well.. if this game will be the game of the year... then by default the xbox 360 will also be the console of the year, since it's an exclusive title that you can ONLY play on the xbox 360.

Sony's primary mistake was that they understimated the xbox 360 and overstimated their brand recognition.

I'm a half life fan... and I am buying this game today.. but as far as multiplayer Halo 3 is better.. and as far as graphics Bioshock is better... but then again... why should I worry about it? as a 360 owner... I can have them all.. I will leave the debate about which one is better to those who have NONE and have to wait and hope that one day... Orange box will be released on their console.

But at the same time let others have an opinion about it.. it's obvious that features like this one will not apeal to everyone... This seem to be a feature that can be easly done with the left anolog stick... it's obvious that developers are not using the sixaxis the way Sony envision they would... and that people are not accepting it as much as they though...

Another benefit of the HD DVD external drive... It's kind of cool.. that you can buy 1 HD DVD player and use it for all your xbox 360, PC and now the PS3 (limited use for now).

Anyways.. one of the main reason I purchased an HD DVD addon was to watch standard DVD movies... I replaced my old Sony DVD player near my TV set...

Let's face it... Microsoft can release an SKU with a fail rate of 0.001% and Sony fanboys would never stop talking about RROD.... At the end of the Day Sony makes a decision to sacrify a game element on the PS3 in order to reduce the price of their blu-ray player...
Why not remove blu-ray movie playback (remember a rumor at first that a PS3 SKU was not going to have blu-ray playback)... removing any component not designed for games in order to reduce cost? NOOOOO... it had to be the games that get sacrified...

I think it's a good idea microsoft is changing strategy... It's obvious that by looking at the new PS3 $400 SKU that Microsoft and Sony need to make money and may not be able to continue their price drop war between them without hurting the consumer in the proccess...
