If you are like me and you've always got your game news I.V. hooked to N4G then im sure you got a whiff of the news from the UK that a study claims 2 hours of playing video games is the same as doing a line of cocaine. So i read the article off CVG:

One of my favorite quotes is counsellor and therapist Steve Pope telling a UK (thats United Kingdom old chap) paper that "Spending two hours on a game station is equivalent to taking a line of cocaine in the high it produces."
When I read that I laughed because that is damn near true. Video games do often create euphoria for the players like a drug would, so long as it isnt Dynasty Warriors.
The counseller continues to say that video games are one of the leading addictions in the UK. He also refrences a kid threatening suicide because his parents took his console. What the hell? While I dont doubt the kid said that because theres been times when I was younger and was in those marathon sessions on my Dreamcast where someone speaking to me made me yell at them I do think this guy is full of it. The problem lies with the parents not the kids gaming habits.
And secondly what the hell is this idiot therapist comparing video games to a drug for? It is a media form and quite possibly art not liqud gold in a syringe. Is he saying if I get 100% completion in Red Dead Redemption that I am the equivalent to Whitney Huston and Bobby Brown running around their neighborhood in their underwear, high on coke, screaming the star spangled banner? (no this did not happen... well it hasnt been confirmed)
I get a crack out of quacks claiming games are like crack. Say that a few times fast. I mean yeah games can be addicting but so long as the person has a grip on reality, and dont get me wrong it can be hard sometimes, then it shouldnt be as bad as this guys making it out to be. I can see it now, Fox News will dedicate a day to how video games are becoming a drug. Ah those fine folks at Fox and their ignorant claims (ie Mass Effect Fox News Story)
But I digress, in the end if this guy is right and 2 hours of Search and Destroy in Modern Warfare is like a line of coke then pass me my straw its time to ride that elusive white pony (aka game ending Nuke)
We were expecting problems with mod support, but there are a lot of other issues.
This is why you get the GOG version on gog you can select the version of the game to download.
On pc fallout 4 fallout new vegas and skyrim are all broken on steam because they all got the same "next gen" update.

Not accidental, they want modders to stop modding their older games to force them to mod Shitfield.
There doing the same on starfield with a mods store and blocking mods
There goal is like blizzard and what they did with fallout 76 you make mods they can sell and you become a slave.
On skyrim they have "trusted" mod devs now basically a badge that lets your mod on the store you get a crumb of the sale when someone buys it.
lol to the disagrees, the last Skyrim update broke mods too. They've been trying to kill mods to monetize them in creation club for years, it's not a stretch that they purposely put out patches just to break free mods.
The disagrees are from people who have common sense. They aren't trying to kill mods. Most mods for any game will break with a new update because they rely on files/code that have been changed. This isn't new. Even with Bethesda this would happen way before the creation club. Mod support is literally one of the things that got Bethesda to where they are, and they're one of the only devs that releases comprehensive mod tools for each of their games.
Over 14 GBs and doesn't change much at all? What? Taking up that much drive space for a pathetic 'remastering' is shameful.

The ps5 version doesn't change a ton but from my small playtime it's enough to make me want to replay it just to have it running at 60.
A side note to this my PS4 version no longer boots after it's "update" so I guess that's what it feels like to own a Bethesda game on PC

They buy IPs not talent. That's why these buyouts never work and the IPs die. Right now it's too expensive to develop games - but I expect that to shift maybe as AI tools can make it easier.
