Anyhow, Congrats to PS3 gamers.

RPG Guy5612d ago

RPGs exclusive to 360 = fail. We know this.

Now then, Square-Enix cancel that FFXIII port and hurry things up!

meepmoopmeep5612d ago

left & right, eh?

anyway, i've never been a big Tales fan.
but i thought Namco was making a brand new version for the PS3

Homicide5612d ago

Awesome. I was going to get it for the 360, but I guess I'll wait for the PS3 version.

Aclay5612d ago (Edited 5612d ago )

Tales of Vesperia had better be coming to the PS3 after Namco Bandai has now made Tekken 6 multiplatform.

I guess it should have been pretty obvious though because Tekken 6= multiplatform, then Tales of Vesperia= multiplatform.

Oh yea... one more thing Namco, I want the next Ace Combat on the PS3 like it should have been with Ace Combat 6.

2ch is yanking your chains people!

Parapraxis5612d ago

LMAO!
@facepalm, thanks haha
this is from the same thread
"When did this "Valkyria was originally for 360" mumbo jumbo start
Actually, I was involved in the early days of the game’s development … back before I quit to draw erotic manga … Originally, the game was planned for the Xbox 360, but then later changed for the PS3.

Danja5612d ago

if this is true then it will sell well on the PS3 in Japan...and Namco will see how stupid they were for letting it be a 360 exclusive in the 1st place.

Why dis5612d ago (Edited 5612d ago )

PS3 is still waiting for games from Namco to be ported over to PS3, games years old ;)

"This won't end well"

^^Is this why folks keep doing this?

callahan095612d ago (Edited 5612d ago )

I've been playing through this on 360.

It's got a good battle system and great graphics, and the story is intriguing, but some of the characters are kind of unappealing to me. Most of the characters are good, though. Really, my problem with the game is that after a while you start to feel like it's all following the same structured playlist on repeat. Like, you'll go to a town and separate from your party, then you talk to everyone individually and reform, then you go to the next dungeon, halfway through there will be a save point, then at the end of the dungeon you get heated words between you and the enemy, you fight a boss, the enemy gets away, you go to the next town, repeat.

I'm about 2/3s through it and about 50 hours in, and I'm starting to feel like each segment is a chore. I'm not sure if I'll ever finish it because I still have Persona 4 sitting on my shelf and I'm really itching to start on that.

Oh, and PS, the achievements for this game SUCK. About 600 points worth of the achievements require you to play through the entire game doing very specific things that often include missable items/events/etc. to accumulate a whole mess of requirements before the little 10 pointer unlocks.

I'm 50 hours into this game and I've been actively trying to make as many achievements unlock as I can up to this point without using an achievement guide, and I've still got less than 250 points from this game. That's by far the fewest points relative to hours played of any 360 games I've ever owned.

Not that achievements make or break a game or anything, but, just a heads up: don't expect to rack up any quick and easy points with this game.

Overall, it ain't quite the next-gen JRPG savior. I played Persona 3 for about 3 times this amount of time and never felt bored of it.

I can buy a copy now! Let me e-mail my friend in Kuwait that he doesn't need to mail me a copy of ToV XHack360 version.

tatotiburon5612d ago (Edited 5612d ago )

yes because they don't need the money, they make games just for make you happy

PataponKnight5612d ago (Edited 5612d ago )

"they make games just for make you happy"

Thats all I gotta say.

InMyOpinion5611d ago

If everyone would stop accepting checks from "M$" the world would go under, since everyone and everything is on their payroll.

another exclusive lost and of course it will surpass the sales of the 360 version

rCrysis5612d ago

no. veraegic's right on that one

jcfilth5612d ago

I'm starting to think that there is no exclusives to 360, only TIMED exclusives.

Seriously, I would be really sad if I was a 360 supporter. At the end, it is the gamers paying for all that DLC and timed exclusivity, with their $50 a year, paying for themes(omg!wtf?) and some stuff that even the developers want to give for free, over-priced accessories..etc.

tatotiburon5612d ago

like ps3 version of bioshock outsold the xbox 360 version??

5612d ago
Sir Ken_Kutaragi5611d ago

When the xBots + Micro$oft + Mods on this say 'It's a xBox 360 Exclusive'
It really means -
It's on the xBox 360 and on the P.C
Or
It's on the xBox 360 and the better Version will be coming to the PS3!!!
;-D

More games the better;) Even tho i'm not a RPG fan.

Lay off my Eternal Sonata, the PS3 version is better and also comes with an actual ending and second half story unlike the X360 version! Actually there was more than one ending in the PS3 version...

I really enjoyed this article, it was a good read. This quote gave me a chuckle, because it's true!:

"Pretty much every JRPG involves the player’s characters going from barely being able to lift a sword to killing God"

indysurfn1429d ago

LOL...exaggeration but I get your just making a point. No one can Kill God. Don't drink Satan's cool-aide he is just trying to recruit you (backwards recruit)

Tross1429d ago

He probably only has the grape kind anyways. All the folk up in heaven surely hog all the good flavours.

BrainSyphoned1429d ago

Final Fantasy 15 the ultimate delayed game with delayed story dlc shoveled in at the last second. Doesn’t ring the gratifying bell when I see that stupid car at all. Article+thumbnail is like describing a 5star meal while watching your cat clean its backside.

More specifically I would say JRPGs are progressive gratification. Basically like listening to prog music vs anything else which imo is the best. Even if a JRPG is all about the journey, generally speaking JRPGs keep getting better as opposed to other games which usually have their high points come in either too soon, or the best parts just aren't nearly as impactful.

indysurfn1429d ago

Also don't forget the direct comparison that the old Square Enix president made. He said Western players like TWITCH games and eastern players love Cerebral games. Now it was taken as a racist slam. But he meant it as one of the reasons outside of development time and cost return on investment(ROI). But he had a true point people here are TRAINED to like instant stuff. And people there are trained to like delayed over the top stuff. It is not a intelligence slam. I'm glad I LOVE the later gratification! Because it is way better!

iofhua21428d ago

I like JRPG's for the big anime tiddies.

indysurfn1428d ago

lol.....I stand corrected!

The 10 Best Games in the Tales Series

The Tales games may be less recognizable than the Dragon Quest or Final Fantasy games, but that doesn't mean that they aren't worth playing!

I’ve been hooked on the series ever since playing Tales of Xillia

jznrpg1765d ago

I hope they remaster or port a lot of the older games of the series to PS4/PS5

Immagaiden1765d ago

“Tales series is considered one of the top three Japanese RPG series next to RPG giants like Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy.”

How you gonna talk about the top three JRPG franchises and not mention Pokémon, the top selling series in the genre?

This is how the top JRPG series stack up

1. Pokémon - 340M
2. Final Fantasy - 144M
3. Dragon Quest - 78M
4. Monster Hunter - 52M
5. Kingdom Hearts - 30M
6. Souls - 25M
7. Tales of - 20M

A decade later, Tales of Vesperia might still be the ideal Tales game

Ten years ago, early in the lives of both the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3, Microsoft scored a coup when it secured the latest game from Namco's long-running Tales franchise - which had been almost exclusive to PlayStation since Tales of Destiny in the '90s.

Things got even more heated after Tales of Vesperia eventually did end up on PS3, in even better form, with new content and characters. But much to PS3 fans' consternation, Namco Bandai opted to keep the enhanced port Japan-exclusive.

Until last year, when Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition was announced for all existing platforms. The question remains: Was it worth the wait?

It is indeed. Havent felt this good for a tales game since....well vesperia on the 360. Namco needs to go back to these roots.

Lexreborn21966d ago

Phantasia will forever be my ideal tales game. But if they could do a solid remake in current engine I would be thrilled to relive that awesome game

PhoenixUp1965d ago

I don’t think there’s any definitive ideal Tales game since they all have their own individual merit from one another
