IncGamers - Six Days in Fallujah Could Be First In Series

IncGamers has learnt that Six Days in Fallujah might be the first of many games which tells the stories of the troops on the ground.

Atomic Games president, Peter Tamte, has said that the developer has been approached by different armed forces services from around the world.

Interesting. I'd love to see more games built like this - based around diaries and first-hand experiences. I suspect it's going to be an amazing way to experience events.

Controversy = free publicity, the more controversial the sequels, the higher the chance they will sell

ANd it sold like poop on a stick. I am skeptical of this game not for the story but more for the gameplay and graphics. If it sucks all around then no matter how controversial it is, the game will tank like all other mediocre games.

Agreed but there's a point where controversy becomes harmful. When certain countries refuse to release a game, it's obviously going to harm revenues.

The level of involvement from real troops says to me that this should be a quality title. I'm very hopeful for more.

I'm not so sure that other conflicts are important right now as far as translating it into a game. Maybe we should see how this goes down

I serve in the USMC and i would just like to say it would be more than hard for me or the families and friends of people that lost their lives in this battle to play, watch, or have peace knowing that their loved ones last moments are depicted in a video game. alot of the kids on this site think this crap is cool, but i can promise you that Fallujah was no game and i personally lost alot of friends in that fight.

and I am deeply sorry for your losses. I have a question to ask you and hopefully you don't get upset, but wouldn't you want to tell the world about what really goes on over there, rather than what is reported in the news? The "news" only gives the people half the story (or rather what they want you to hear). If this game can manage to tell these soldier's stories without being distasteful, then I welcome it.

My father was a POW MIA from Vietnam. I have always tried to be close with him, but that war messed him up so bad in the head, that it is really hard to talk to him about what he did. He had to do and see things that no person should ever have to. I have lived through the after effects of war my entire life, so I know where you are coming from.

Many of my friends from high school have lost their lives over in Iraq. As long as this game is trying to be a message for what war is and does, instead of glorifying it and pretending it is fun, then I say go ahead and do a damn good job.
