GenGAME writes: "For most Wii U fans, it seems like Pikmin 3 is the big game they’re looking forward to within the foreseeable future. And it should be – Nintendo’s take on the real-time strategy genre is a pretty suitable fit for their audience, who crave a bit more than just the same old stuff. It’s a great franchise all-around, really: simple, easy-to-understand, and strongly focused game mechanics, sporting a world rich with things to investigate and a wide variety of monsters to harvest and oozing with Nintendo-style charm.
"I’m sure the game will be excellent, and a great addition to Wii U owners’ libraries. But let’s get one thing straight: Pikmin will not sell Wii U systems."
Nintendo considers its real-time strategy series, Pikmin, a flagship IP, based on the latest details from its recent shareholder meeting.
I love Pkimin 4, but wish they'd lean more into the rts aspects of the game. Would be interesting if you were using pikmin to gather resources and building stuff. Wouldn't mind if it strayed a iittle bit away from the cozy game territory. Atleast in spin-off.
The "next gen console update" part of this is so clickbaity. The Nintendo president offered an update that they have nothing to update us on.
I'm all in for a new Nintendo generation if they can give us
New smash
New Mario party
New Metroid
New Zelda both in 3d and 2d
New starfox
New IP
New and better pokemon game that really advances the IP
I live in Japan and Pikmin 4 did surprisingly well. Tons of collaborations and marketing. Even now they play ads on the trains.
One of my favorite franchises ♥️
Pikmin 1 + 2 version 1.1.0 update released, and Nintendo has shared the official patch notes.
WTMG's Leo Faria: "For better or for worse, this is now the easiest and most practical way to play Pikmin, and figure out why has this franchise managed to stand the test of time for so long. I particularly didn’t understand the hype. To me, Pikmin is average at best. It’s a game that has aged poorly, especially when it comes to these dated controls. The fact this wasn’t even a remaster, but a bare bones upscaled port of a game from 2001, certainly didn’t help. It did nothing to fix its many issues, nor did it receive improvements in its visuals, audio, or performance. It can be fun for a while, and having yet another (costly) way to have it preserved for the future is nice, but I certainly am not enamored with the franchise after playing it. I’d rather just stick to Tinykin."
Pikmin never was a system seller but it will move some wiiU's and its a good franchise.
Nintendo is losing money , the console suck, all they say is Nintendo has money to withstand it, it's like thinking, I have enough blood to survive so I will Just bleed, and see what happens lol, we all know how it ends
I doubt many expect Pikmin to shift tons of hardware..
Nintendo will be fine, but they are having a bit of a rough time. Once mario, zelda and metroid land the masses will come.
I didnt think it would. Mario Kart, smash bros, Pokemon etc... are system sellers.
