the vita is packed with value, the tech is amazing and the line-up is awesome. Hoping for a price jump 2 less then half a year after release is hilarious. This isn't nintendo where they actually over priced the 3ds.
It actually isn't worth it.(for me at least). It is over priced compared to the competition I don't care if it is "worth it". PS3 was over priced and sure it was the cheapest blu-ray player but it doesn't matter. This not Apple...
It's certainly not overpriced, but it's not worth it for me yet, as there's no games interesting enough to warrant purchasing it (I have no desire to play Uncharted on anything but a TV).
I'll probably get one when Bioshock Vita comes out though, or if they make a Borderlands Vita game I'll definitely get one. But right now, it's just an awesome piece of hardware with uninteresting (imo) games.

where have you been? how about nintendo giving th early 3DS adopters 20 free games? its not amazing, but its something. only 2 months later and the vitas pricing has dropped ALOT! at least here in the UK.
Nintendo gave those games because the price of the thing took a nose dive officially, not to reward early adoptors, to stop them complaining. If the thing sold, they wouldn't have given them anything.
Well one could argue that Sony gave early adopters rewards in form of b/c and card readers. The price was a little steep but I bought it anyway. It died and now I game on a slim PS3.
I wish I had time for Vita. I can't get enough of PS1 classics on my PSP. I'm 55 hours in FF8 atm and next in line is Chrono Cross. I will buy Vita somewhere down the line. Perhaps I get a few new feature at the same time. PS1 emulation is vital. That's why I just love my PSP. That and anime/movies on the go.
i got awarded with 6 broken 360s for being an early adopter...wait...We got timed free games for vita so it was worth the day 1. the cross game chat is nice to boot. activision and infinity ward give you rewards for being early adopters. you get disconnects from host day 1 and searching for new host before anybody else haha
Sony's getting blamed for a deal that Amazon.com is offering?
Plus, I suppose throwing in a free copy of MK at launch would have been difficult, considering MK wasn't out yet.
@Hx3KinG If a retail store is giving out discounts on the Vita, that is their call. If Sony came out tomorrow and dropped the Vita to 150 bucks, then I suppose there would be a legitimate gripe if they didn't at least follow Nintendo's lead and give some sort of compensation to people who bought the Vita the first few weeks after launch. But complaining that stores are giving discounts and Sony isn't compensating people is unfair.
It'd be like if you bought a new car at your local dealership for 20k and your friend got the same car a week later at a different dealership for 17k, what are you going to do, go complain to Honda?
@Trenta27: Ok, I stand corrected, either way, this is still not a price drop, plus there were a lot of deals being offered within the first few weeks of launch as well. Sometimes you gotta be patient. I waited on getting ME3 for a month and ended up getting it for 30 bucks brand new on Amazon.
IS IT SOCIALLY AWKWARD IF A VITA BUYS A VITA? IS THAT LIKE SLAVERY? CAN THAT HAPPEN? I WONDER IF VITAS HAVE FEELINGS LIKE ME.
I wish I could unread that.

An apology is not a reward.
