In the end on will only Naughty Dog & Sony Santa Monica will remain.

manman64686d ago

They was never own by Sony. Sony only funded ModNation Racers.

Quagmire4686d ago (Edited 4686d ago )

These guys were meant to make True Crime hong kong, but for some reason was cancelled. I was expecting them to make a Modnation Racers 2.

O well, whatever games these UF makes, Ill be sure to pick it up.

DrRichtofen4686d ago

That was a little harsh don't you think? He probably didn't know they were 3rd party.

lil Titan4686d ago

Modnation Racers will have the same life span as Little Big Planet so dont expect a MNR game until 2012 or 2013 since the vita version is coming out it may be a year longer

MintBerryCrunch4686d ago

you named 2 out of 20+studios that sony owns at the moment

UF is 3rd party, ND and Santa Monica are 1st party,

RockmanII74686d ago

http://en.wikipedia.org/wik...
These devs don't have the option to leave Sony, anyone and everyone else does. At this point the biggest company that could go PS360 is Sucker Punch.

DrRichtofen4686d ago

BUY QUANTIC DREAM SONY!! I want another game like Heavy Rain soo bad there is a need for more story driven games. And SuckerPunch too, love those guys.

Inzo4685d ago

It will be sad but the good news is that sony owns the Sly and Infamous IPs, besides I think Sony has a hand on SPP so I dont think it will happen any time soon.

Next, those guy united front aren't that good

GrandTheftZamboni4686d ago

Based on just playing Mod Nation Racers demo I tend to disagree. I'll be definitely getting the game. Better late than never.

MidnytRain4686d ago

You'll be blown away by what people can pull of in that game.

MidnytRain4686d ago

UFG has potential. They had an awesome idea with MNR and I expect them to announce yet another title that'll turn heads.

InLaLaLand4685d ago

Modnation Racers was a decent game. The only thing that was annoying was the A.I and loading times.

DarkFantasy4685d ago

are you on crack!!??!! UF is awesome.Modnation racers was a blast!!. i can't wait to see what they do next!

MOD NATION SHOOTER, tweak running speed , kill cams, build your own weapons like in Borderlands 2,000,000+ guns fully customizable everything, will sell like HotCakes , can see a Trend in that

maniacmayhem4686d ago (Edited 4686d ago )

That sounds awesome! Especially the 2mil gun part, if any game could pull that off that would be instant GoY

Bull5hifT4685d ago (Edited 4685d ago )

Are You Friggen Kidding Me, as soon as i heard about Little Big Planet 1, first thing that came to mind was Why couldnt it have been 3D soo we could build FPS's ..... Who ever gets on this idea, is Gauranteed Money.... But every single thing must be Tweakable, to make it feel like your Jumping Between COD or Battlefield... Not like Unreal Tournament... Something, the way i invision it, it would be soo much fun, then download Top Rated Packs , and filter out all the crap somehow, like if the game asks you if your Serious about Shooters, they'll be THE Top Ten , where if they stay at that point for a month , they'll get Professional Devs like Infinty Ward or Dice to Tweak your Levels to Perfection

Redgehammer4685d ago

Cool, I have read some cool things about MNR, and look forward to checking out what the team brings to the 360.

DarkFantasy4685d ago

it was verry fun :) reminded me of a customizeable CTR or Mario Kart with it's own unique flavour.

He bought the console from an auction website.. Not theft.

rainslacker2699d ago (Edited 2699d ago )

Devkits technically belong to the console makers. devs dont have the rights to sell them or give them away. Sony would be well within their rights to request it be returned.

Sleeping dogs data would belong to Square Enix, so, him holding dev code would be copyright infringement if it was never intended to leave the dev house.

Sure it was all an oversight. Not technically theft, but receiving stolen property.

MilkMan2700d ago

Somehow I think that's worse. Someone forgot to delete the contents I suppose. They wouldn't auction a kit with live projects in it.

kevnb2700d ago

They probably didn't give a crap.

Sunny_D2700d ago

He got it from an auction after United Front Games became defunct. I guess they said, screw it. SELL SELL SELL.

Jman22700d ago

I'm surprised they sold it even if it was defunct, Sony bolts ours to the tables o.0, with a live hard drive even with encryption it could breach nda if any of the files get out.

While there are still many burning questions (price, specs, battery life) surround the Switch, I think the potential that the trailer showed is incredibly appealing. If the Switch really does have all that 3rd party support they're touting (remember, Nintendo did the same thing when the Wii U was revealed), and I can play games like Skyrim (Bethesda), Destiny 2 (Activision), and another major AAA games on the go, I don't see how this thing won't be a massive success. The strangest thing though is Nintendo's decision to go dark for the remainder of 2016...that is baffling.

tazmeah2742d ago

I just wan't an online infrastructure that resembles something from 2006 and an achievement system. Is that so much to ask?

masterfox2742d ago (Edited 2742d ago )

Even the hardest loyalist Nintendo fans dont want this im 100 % sure of it, the problem here is instead of thinking honestly what console they actually want they go with their pride instead causing not admitting that Nintendo screw up again big time.

Sometimes pride can blind us from reality.

wonderfulmonkeyman2741d ago (Edited 2741d ago )

Jesus Christ, now you're trying to speak for Nintendo fans despite being a confirmed Nintendo hater?
90% of the reveal reactions were positive.
And there are MANY people out there, that HATED the Wii U, saying they want a Switch.
STOP.
You don't speak for Nintendo fans, let alone core gamers in general.

marloc_x2741d ago

..or I simply like Nintendo games?

Fearmonkey2742d ago (Edited 2742d ago )

Is This The Nintendo Console Core Fans Want? - Maybe, Core N fans are going to buy it.
Is this the console non core fans want? - I doubt it
Is this going to sell like hotcakes to the bulk of us - depends on price, if its $250 and under..maybe, if its $299 or above...no. It's not that compelling for me.

Nintendo are like Apple, Everytime there is a new release, it sells well because they have a rabid fanbase that sees them as never doing anything bad. However, the bulk of people wont bite on it. It's the Wii-u and Nvidia Shield all in one with detachable controllers, its just not that exciting.

BattleAxe2741d ago (Edited 2741d ago )

Like some people have said already, this is the console that the WiiU should have been. I think this console looks really cool, but I think it's about 6 years too late. Handheld consoles are no longer in demand, as shown by the PS Vita's sales and even the slowing 3DS sales. The PS Vita was amazing when it came out, and it delivered amazing graphical ability, and it still didn't sell very well.

The one thing with the Vita, is that it didn't launch with very many good games, and it took a while for the Vita's library to build up. At this point in time, it appears that the Switch will have a better launch line-up than the Vita, but I don't think that guarantees success beyond the Nintendo hardcore fans.

People these days usually have a smart phone on them everywhere they go, so I think it's going to be tough to convince anyone that they need to carry a tablet with controllers on it everywhere they go, especially if they don't walk around with a back-pack or a briefcase. Also, if the battery life isn't more than 4 hours, then people will not go for that.

wonderfulmonkeyman2741d ago (Edited 2741d ago )

If the overwhelmingly positive sentiments spawned from the reveal are any indication, then yes.
At the least, this has people considering it as a secondary. If the price is not something ridiculously overpriced like $500, then it'll sell well.
$300 would be an affordable middle ground that wouldn't require people to break the bank, while still allowing Nintendo to sell at a profit instead of at a loss, but I don't expect Nintendo to price something more powerful than the Wii U at less than $350, especially since shrinking down tech like that makes it costly.
If it didn't, then Laptops wouldn't be so much more expensive as full sized PC's for similar technical abilities.
